Hijacking the 1st 62 off the line thread, what is the youngest fj62 roaming around here?
There is a break down how to read the VIN, can't find it right now.

Mine is a 1990 with a 12/1989 production date, I'll check my vin shortly. I think I had the record over on the 3FE list a few years ago.

Post up what your number is.

No, not much can be done with the VIN except check when it was made and car fax :p

Oh okay. I guess someone could just read it off the car when you park it somewhere. Sowwy :)

Isn't posting this number not a good idea? Or is that just the psycho in me?

Kline, are you going psycho on me? :)

Mine: JT3FJ62G5K1113951 - 07/89

Hopefully not. I'm only 21. Too early to lose my mind..... Or maybe it's already lost :D

I wouldn't post my VIN :meh:

FWIW, my California truck is a 10/89 IIRC.

Hahaa, found this old thread I had started. Found it when this recent VIN thread...
vIN ? ....got me thinking again about the fj62 being the "last of the Mohicans" of the venerable 60 series.

Don't know if the 62 was manufactured into calendar (January) 1990, but mine is a 12/'89 ending in 1121208.

What's your 1990?

That was my VIN ? Thread, you got me beat, door jam says 11/89 but Toyota Service computer says production date 12/17/89. My VIN is 1120569 from west Texas.

11/89 Vin begins with 111
My understanding is the 80 series was supposed to be released in 1990 but was behind schedule so they held back some of the later 1989 built 62's to carry over into 1990 and fill in the lag time. I think.

1990 was an important model year though. If you're old enough you might remember that vehicles under a certain GVWR had to have either a driver's side airbag or those stupid automatic seat belts. I bought one of each that year - Mustang (airbag) and Festiva (electric seat belt.)

Our 62's (thankfully) have neither so they were either grandfathered or they were over the weight limit and were treated like a 1 ton pickup. Not sure.

Eric

Wait till you have wife, kids and a mortgage.

I'm actually 25 now... definitely not ready for that yet.

So who had the most new 62 here? @Skniper was it you?
