Not sure of the date but believe production of the FJ62 stopped before 1990 and all 90 models were made in 1989. SOR shows production to 1/90 so maybe a few were made in January 1990. As for the start of the 90 not sure. I'm also not sure they is any different between the 89 and 90 models. The 88s had a different radio and no three point seat belts in the back row. The 80 series was for sale in the US in May of 1990 as a 91 model if I remember correctly.

I just purchased a 12/17/89 production date FJ62 which was delivered to the dealer and retail in February of 1990, I'm thinking it must be one of the last ones, hoping to find sone VIN range information.

I know mine was made 7/19/89 and titled as a 89. I'm the second owner and bought it in July of 93. Have the original owners manual that is for a 89. I would have to get a Carfax to be sure when it was sold, paid off the first owner lease. The build sheet has far less information then my 99 4Runner. That one shows a lot more including which shift it was made.
Sorry to bump this thread but how are you guys finding out the exact production date? I've been trying to avoid paying for vin history to find this info but if I need to I will. Curious to know how close my FJ62 was to the last ones off the boat, 12/89.
