We’ve owned this since March 2016. It’s spent its life in southern Arizona and New Mexico. 5 speed automatic with 120,000 miles.
Sandstorm paint color, body is in excellent condition, no accidents, garage kept. Carfax report lists a Damage Report on 6/10/2015, with minor to moderate damage to the roof, passenger side and passenger side of front and rear. That’s all the Damage Report contains, however a little detective work revealed Owner 2 was in Boulder, Colorado and had the tires rotated at Boulder Toyota on 6/4/2016, 6 days earlier. Historical Weather Data for the Boulder area indicates storms with heavy rain and hail on June 6. Based on close inspection of the body, I can find no evidence of bodywork or painting, which is understandable since hail damage can be worked out by hail specialists with special equipment. I did find there is no VIN sticker on the hood, so it was most likely replaced with a replacement hood painted by a real pro. This also explains why my hands on inspection in March 2016 in Tempe didn’t find any evidence of body damage or repair.
I recently replaced the original front struts and rear shocks with Bilsteins 5100s
In both of the above pix you can see where I wiped the frame behind the shocks to show how clean the metal is. This is a rust-free rig with relatively low mileage that hasn’t been hard 4-wheeled and beat up. For the price you’ll have a clean slate for making it your own – leave it as it is, or make it into whatever kind of rig you’ve dreamed of, but without having to start with frame and body rust issues like so many of these wonderful rigs suffer from.
