Thanks! Sleep? Whats that?? Right now the front is cut, hopefully will be turned tonight, but definantly tomorrow. I rented a pipe cutter from a local place and it worked really well until the cutter wheel broke...had to make a special trip to have them fix it. Other than that the cuts went very well.
dude glad to see you picked up another 60 your old 60 is doing great my friend is having alot of fun in it...btw you should try and make it down to the Yankee Toys fall gathering this year it would be nice to see you and your new rig

The fronts pretty much done, just need to run the brake lines, sway bar and get the pitman arm off. The rear just needs to be welded and its done. Hopefully I'll be driving it tomorrow...it might be on the current 31s though...
I know I'm not doing well with pictures, but its always pitch black out when I'm done and at that point I'm so tired I just want to go inside.

Having some issues with the Trail Gear steering. It would appear as though they sent me the mini truck length tie rod and drag link even though when you order from them you tell them what vehicle you have. Theres probably 2in of exposed threads on the TREs and about an inch actually in the rod itself. On a possibly unrelated note it turns about 5/8ths of a turn farther left than it does right. The pitman arm is lined up properly on the steering box shaft, so I dont know. It's now 2:30am and I just got in from giving it a little test drive and its time to go to sleep. Hopefully I can sort things out in the morning.
So I just got off the phone with Trail-Mart. Evidently they dont sell steering for an FJ60. Even though it doesnt say "Just for mini trucks and 4runners" anywhere on the high steer description AND when you order from them you tell them what vehicle you own...of course I said FJ60. The only thing the guy that I talked to said they could do is refund me the money...and of course I would still have to pay $80 total in shipping here and back. I'm supposedly going to get a call from the sales manager and hopefully he'll be more useful than whoever was on the line before. The problem is, my moms been out of town, so I've been driving her car while my cruiser is being worked on...she gets back tomorrow and I dont have a finished cruiser now that Trail-Mart messed this all up. I'm pretty angry with them right now.
EDIT: Just got a call back from a VERY useless sales manager. Who was trying to blame me. I mean seriously WTF happened to customer service and being a good business?? I ordered from them because I was on a budget and now I cant drive my cruiser while I wait to get a correct steering system AND I have to pay the shipping. I hope nobody buys from Trail-Mart, they're a horrible business. It's definantly worth the extra money to get Marlin.
Heres there description....

This results in broken stock steering arms and loss of steering. Our high steer kit features unbeatable quality at a super low price. Kit features super beefy, solid forged steering arms, heavy duty pitman arm, heavy duty .250 wall steering rods, and rod ends. Precision fit for easy assembly. Flat steering arm kit requires custom mounting hardware, not included in kit. Also See Right Hand Drive

Nowhere does it say only fits a mini truck. The guys excuse for why its not odd that I put my vehicle down as an FJ60 and buying those arms is because people put mini truck axles under their 60s....has anyone ever heard of someone doing that?? No, this sales manager was just trying to make up excuses as to why its not their fault to have a poorly layed out website and an even more poorly managed business.
s*** man, sorry to hear that. What's weird is that I've seen a bunch of guys run TG's 6 shooter knuckles, along with the 6 stud arms and the rest of the high steer steup, on 60's without a problem. I bet that the tie and relay rods for the 6 stud knuckle / highsteer kit is the same as with the regular high steer arms, but I don't know for sure.
So everything works except the relay and tie rods, right? If there's an inch of TRE in each rod end, then I bet you could tighten the nuts down and run it until you bought another kit or broke that one.
Thats a thought. I'm going to try to find the stuff locally to make my own tie rods. Then send them just the tie rod back...saves me shipping and such. The pitman arm, steering arms and tie rod ends all work, just the tie rod/drag link are a couple inches short.
I purchased a set of 37in Maxxis Creepy Crawler tires on Friday. Went to mount them today to find they wont clear the 4Runner calipers. So now I have to wait for some spacers to arrive
