Unless its a conversion than it is a HJ45 and not a FJ45.

Hopefully I'll be able to check it out and report back.

Cool - I'm curious to hear how the tub is rust wise (looks like a thick paint job that might be hiding demons)

Meeting the owner tomorrow. Anything specific I should be looking for that is 45/troopy unique?

LOL.

If this truck has a production year of 1981, it should be a HJ47 with a 2H, right? An H55f would have been a factory option?

My 1978 was a 45 Series with a "H" diesel but I assume you are correct that this one probably has a 2H. I am not sure when the 45 production ended and the 47 began.

82 was the first year of the HJ47s in most places. In 81 they made a lot of changes though so it could have any combination of engine and tranny. It really depends upon where it came from.

Sent from my Nexus 4 using IH8MUD

Good to know. I thought the 2H/47 designation started in 1980. I'll be looking it over later today. Stoked.

How's the 44 coming together?

Spoke to the owner. Sounds like it has an overdrive (Ranger) and was imported from New Zealand. He mentioned a few wiring gremlins but seemed very confident in the condition of the sheet metal. Will post more pics if someone doesn't snag it before I can see it myself...

Have fun with this one, HJ4500900612. Titled as a 1981 but I am told no way with the H motor. Marv at SOR tells me it's a very late 1980. Was imported to France then Germany. The story is that a gentleman purchased it to convert to a camper, cut the roof installed water tanks and then was tragically killed in motorcycle accident.

Mike. Your HJ45 had to be one of the last HJ45's produced... 7/80 being the transition month/year... I can see where it would be titled as an 81.:meh:
