Do anyone know abou this guy, his rig is the only 100 series Land Cruiser to race in Baja 1000 2006 last Nov. FJ Cruiser don't counted as Land Cruiser!

Number 14 - Ikuo Hanawa, 44, Japan, Toyota Land Cruiser 100 Series.

Got any photos and the result in his race which is classified as Pro Class.

Regards,

16th place = Ikuo Hanawa, Japan, Toyota Land Cruiser, 36:10:49. (31 Starters, 16 Finishers)

:)

I really, honestly, seriously, want to run this race one day. And i want to use a Land Cruiser...no FJ. I watched a show on Speed Channel Two roads to Baja the other night. Rod Millen and his race team with a black FJ came in 2nd by 34 seconds this past november. The other team gave up 150 miles out.

It will be years till i have the proper experience and funds to run the race, but i really want to attempt it before i die.

It doesnt hurt to dream Loud...

You are a little closer to racing it though `cause you already have an official TeamLoud photographer ;)

That would be an amazing experience !!

Count me in for pit crew on TeamLoud - I actually had the privilage of pitting for Ivan on some desert races in So. Cal when I lived there. That enhanced my love for Toyotas, obviously.

Sign me up!

Get me a 'copter and we'll get some nice aerial shots - 'course, if you can wait long enough I might have my own.

Always wanted to do that - low level, high speed over the desert, chasing rigs running like bats outta hell - my kinda stuff!

haha awesome ive started a 100 series baja race team called "TeamLoud" LoL! Well Maybe in 5-8 years ill try and reach you guys and we can do it. So much for people wanting to actually ride in the truck. I cant drive all 1000 miles by myself in the 43 hours.

Does anyone else have any more information reguarding that landcruiser that came in 16th aside from his time and position?

I have the same dream, I want to do it also, before I am 50. 41 now. If enough people have interest, maybe we could get a team to do it in a 5-8 years. Anyone can enter, 3000 dollar entry fee I think. Just need to find a pit crew.

i want christo and a engineer FROM japan to join us, along with a bunch of you 100 nuts. That would be awesome, because the support trucks could be slee's LX and sins 100, hah. We wouldnt even need special support trucks. Plus, like in the show i watched the other night, we wont have to spend 4 hours trying to find the truck if it breaks...pilot will be hovering overhead dropping parts off.

How about if new Mud greenhorns pay an initiation fee to TeamLoud's 2012 Baja effort! lol

I Wanna go, I Wanna go!

The movie Dust to Glory showed the Baja 1000 in a very different way!

i was going to watch it, but i always forget to go to channel 408. I usually only hit up the speed channel and military channel.

Ok, so at least three FJs ran it this year, and two of them completed it. If the prado frame can do it, the regular 100 can do it better!

Has anyone been watching the Dakar Rally on Versus. A landcruiser desiel was leading the production class after day 12 or so.

They are in 24th overall in the cars and 1st for production and production diesel. That is the Toyota Auto Body team. They started with 3 vehicles but one of them (last years winner) had to drop out. I'm still trying to figure out what happened, but I can't read Japanese.
