It's a rear axle shaft long side. Not the rear driveshaft.

The fusible link will be for HDJ8x iterations which have been discontinued.

If you have a factory locked rear axle, the long side is an essential piece and it's applicable for all 80 series trucks from 1990-2007. Axle is damaged, truck no go.
I get that it's a necessary part, I was just wondering how many are in need of replacement that Toyota would make the financial decision to reacquire them, as opposed to, oh say, sun visors and door cards, which everyone I know needs.
Sunvisors and door cards are not necessary for operation of a vehicle
The program is only for parts that allow the truck to start, operate safely, turn and stop.

Speedometers will never happen. Aftermarket support exists.
Your circuit board will pretty much never fail based on MTBF.
