Koito Headlight Install Question

Hey All! Was installing the headlights this morning and realized the female connector from the original headlight harness is not the same as the male connector from the new headlights

Is the fix as easy as replacing the old female connector with something like this?

If you are going to cut it and put a new end on it, I would just splice it together instead. What would be the purpose of the plug? In hindsight, I wish I just spliced mine. The extra plug is just a place for water to get in and corrosion.

the headlight buckets were different back then, they used a similar plug to plug into a pigtail in the bucket, then inside the bucket had the correct headlight socket to plug the headlight into
