Gentlemen, I was wondering does someone have an idea how to keep rear bench in 78 during the camper conversion? The problem is that 2 front seats are not enough, cause I need a place for 3 passengers aside from me, but I also want to have an opportunity to put everything inside the car + roof rack. I worried about the back axle load too.

All examples I have ever seen had just front seats. Maybe someone has an experience in this?

G'Day Alf P,

Some 75 series L/C's came out with a single drivers seat and a Two seat bench, passenger seat (for a total of three, in the front).

Hope that helps

Doh!

You mean the configuration where there is 1.5-passenger seat on a front and a 3-passenger bench on a back? Today it's a simple GX as far as I remember. But that's not the point. The point is how to fit everything in a vehicle when you want to do a camper (maybe by sacrificing some endurance), but you need a space for cargo, a couple of passengers (not on board bed ) and keep the maximum possible range? It's quite complicated, but maybe someone has already done such vehicles.

Probably the best way would be a roof rack. Also you would need to build shelves behind the rear seat.
This is a 90 series but the space is similar.

How much did you want you want to put in there? I cant see you being overloaded with standard camping gear.
