Had to paint the alternator and vacuum pump as it was not looking good in the engine bay with almost everything else painted. Of course when I took the vacuum pump off two bolts snapped, anyways I got them out. Hardware was replaced with allen head capscrews (the new hex head capscrews holding the vacuum pump on were swapped out to the black allen head ones) and some antiseize...

The rear spring seats on some later model landcruisers had larger holes where the spring pin went through because there was a spring pad, the bushing on the spring pad went in this hole, the hole was also larger on the axle. Well as you can see I welded a bushing on the spring seat to keep the leaf spring pin centered, I also did this on the axles.

Removed and repainted the rear bumper with Tremclad box liner rattlecan, seems ok so far...redid the battery cables with 1/0 and military spec terminals...there is a picture of the installed alt/vacuum pump (notice allen head cap screws holding vacuum pump on). Picked up another cruiser because it was a great deal, plus I got two new batteries with it which I needed anyways...brown cruisers and brown house, that was never planned!

Ok time to update...
Basically, after 200,000 kms on a rebuilt head I wanted to inspect/replace the precombustion chambers
for peace of mind. Secondly, I wanted to paint the cylinder head and some other parts.
Before dis-assembly...

I've got a TRD filter in my bj60. It's red and actually pretty cool knowing they made accessories like that back in the day. I bet it makes 85hp now.
