Dont worry you are in good hands. Rock Midget is the perfect height for putting on suspension lifts, he doesn't even have to duck to get under your truck!

honestly i dont know why they call him the rock midget he aint that short. Or maybe I am not that tall. :hhmm:

Dayummm Lenny! Nice!

hey guys, I'm down to help anyone on a saturday or sunday w/in a few minutes drive. I'm in Madison. I am pretty capable... don't know everything by any means, but I'm pretty handy. Plus I enjoy this kinda crap. If anyone ever needs a hand w/ a lift or some mods, let me know! I can be reached on my cell after 5 m-f, or text all day long, 601-540-1553. If any good welders are interested, I'm gonna have to do some sheet metal repair on my 85' 4Runner project in the near future. I suck w/ sheet metal :). Oh, and if anyone is ever broke down and needs a hand on the side of the road or anything, give me a shout.

Just go out to Nolens and jump in. They will welcome the help. Make plans to come to the cook out as well.

Later,

Do the MAF, 80 series kits come with caster bushings? If so it isn't quite as easy as just changing 4 springs and 4 shocks. Either way you will want to either install the caster bushings or Slee's caster plates to get the steering geometry back in line.

I would guess that Nolan probably has a shop press but the bushings can be painful and you have to remove the front control arms from the truck to swap them out.

I'm gonna have to miss Nolan's this time, I'm having to do some work on my 85' 4Runner, and it's currently stationary, as there is no axle under the front end :D! Then after that, I get the great pleasure of building a gate for my buddies fence that I put up last weekend. Sometimes I hate having friends ha!

Yes, the kit does come with the yellow OME bushings. Since there is some discrepancy about whether these yellow bushings provide enough of a degree correction to the caster, this is what Slee told me to do: Install the kit and do a caster setting assessment after that. Once the caster baseline is determined, then I'll know if the OME bushings will provide enough correction or if I'll need to order some of Slee's blue bushings, ones that provide even more correction. Either way, I will order either an OME or a Slee caster bushing template from LandTank on the 80 section of Mud, and will probably get a shop to put them in........unless, of course, someone on here has the tools and ability to do this. I simply don't have that type of press, etc.

I ran mine without the correction and had no problems. Heavy fronts too. Lift it, drive it. If you don't like the way it tracks, install the bushings.

What time are you coming out? I will be neck deep in my install, but I will be able to keep you moving on yours.

Sorry for my delay in responding. I've had a very busy day (a welcome change, I might add!) If you're going to be starting at 9am, I'll plan to be there at 9am.....anything you need (want) me to bring? I'm going to bring some basic tools, but nothing major.

I MapQuested your address, and it looks like you're up north of 16, right? Just want to make sure the map is showing the correct location. Just in case I run into trouble finding it, please email your cell phone number to me at dnpcorp at bellsouth dot net. Thanks,

David
