85 4Runners ROCK. Nice find, it looks reasonably clean. Good luck with the build and enjoy your "new" truck. A pic of mine.

nice rig i saw that before searching to see other peoples builds--looks expedition style nice

I had a 86 SR-5 that color with a white top. That is my favorite 4Runner color of all time. Aztec Gold. Nice looking 4Runner.
Yes i like to color too,, oh thanks I was looking in the door jamb for color codes could not find (aztec gold didn't know that). Looking to replace hood graphics looks like it faded away. Anyone know if still availble?

if you are refering to turbo gas, I believe they were only available
in 86 & 87. I have a 87 turbosr5 pickup.

Just so you know, the 22re does have potential. It just takes money. Mine turns 4" of lift and 33" tires at 65-70 all day long.

I would start with a nice tune up including plugs, wires, PCV, timing, cap/rotor, and Ox sensor. Remove the throttle body and give the inside a good bath (take off the throttle position sensor first). I'm willing to bet the inside of your plenum is also gunked up too from the PCV. Also, toss a can of SeaFoam in your tank, and a can in the crankcase your next oil change.

Worthwhile mods include the late-model plenum swap, header with 2.25" exhaust, cam, cleaned and balanced injectors ... and if you think the engine is real tired I'd give Tim at DOA or the folks at LC Engineering a call for one of their fresh engines.

Mine pulls pretty strong with 33's and 35's. It has a MSD coil, LCE headers, and 2.25" exhaust. The potential to speed is there if you keep it up around 3000 rpms, shift around 3500-4000.

I've got a friend who can make the repro decals a lot cheaper than that. he doesn't have all the decals digitized yet though. That guy makes a killing on those decal kits.[/QUOTE cool let me know , id be interested in the hood ones

keep finding a puddle of water on passengers floor, Im thinkin its when i use the a/c. Any leads guys? or any guys had this same problem?
edit: i see a bunch o ppl had this problem , will check that drain tube
