  1. 1. Do I try to restore It $$$ Lot of Rust in the usual places except for the doors amazingly
  2. 2. Do I Save myself a lot of aggregation and just fiberglass & Bondo all the holes and use cheep Home Depot weather stripping and just drive It.
  3. 3. Do I want to just cut top off at door hight a drive It around like a surfer wagon ? the roof top where most rust is.
  4. 4.Do I want to make it into a Outback stile bush camper ?
    1. 5. Or do I just sell It for parts
I am leaning toward something like this Outback Style Bushcamper with a High fiberglass roof removing the rear doors flaring out the sides a bit Large single rear door in the rear Campervan Hire Australia | Britz 4WD and RV Rentals | Bushcamper 3 Berth 4WD What is your thoughts ?

Dusty,

How much will you use it do you think? If fairly regularly, then by all means have some fun. I love seeing the fully restored but what I really love is the ones that get driven daily or wheeled every weekend and the ones that may not be perfect except in the eyes of its owner.

Please tell me you'll be driving the piss out of it:steer:

How bad is the roof rust?

My vote would be 1 - resto. If not that, then see what you can do with #4 - faiberglass lid. The rest of that body looks nice.

If it hasn't been all hacked to **** by the PO, it is worth a lot more than one that has been modified.

The 73 is in a mostly stock state wiring is unknown but looks hacked,Engine was running I need to replace the water pump, befoer I can check It out Rust an the roof is extensive three sides It's 90% rusted through and covered with bondo, and rear corners are bad,The floor and front fenders are reparable
I do still have a stock 78 FJ55 unassembled and now rust Free a few parts I could steel from the 73 would make 99% complete minus the back Weather stripping I that could be the Stocker. As Far as being Used we my wife and are Diehard Desert Rats we are in Death Valley in the Winter at-least 4 to 5 times a year Northern Nevada Arizona & Utah camping Spring Summer and Fall We have been contemplating a small 4X4 RV of some type for years besides the expense the Truck would not be used as a DD and Is something I could build.

Dusty 66, if you are interested, I've got a good roof unit off an early 70's, cut halfway down the pillars, You can have it if you come and get it. I've had it for 2 years now and getting ready to send it off for scrap.

Goodluck with the title issue. I'd make sure that gets straightened out first before deciding what to do.
It's not easy or simple in my state.
