Thanks for the tip. I just got the star. I gave gone blow through before, but will just have to try it. I think I have an Aristo 1JZ maf at the shop. I'm going to have to check. I will use stock until the break in is done. Thx for the input.

STS makes a great product. We are installing there new kit on a 350Z next week. I really like the drivability on the cars & trucks that we have tested. No lag, No intercooler (on some low boost applications), No engine bay heat. I was going to do a turbo under the hood, but I had been stacking up parts for awhile & didn't have a manifold. After driving a Tacoma with a remote mount, I was sold. Besides, the guys on Mud have had great sucess with boost under the hood.and I can't touch that... I will be the next Test Dummy. STS has a universal "kit" that would be a good possibility for the guys that wan't to build a custom system. Mine is truly Junk Yard.... Just parts I had sitting around. Stock fuel & engine management for a couple of months. Link G3 stand alone if I am sucessful with the basic engine management & fuel system. That way I can ditch the MAF. It would give me 100% control over boost control, timing maps & Fuel tuning. I don't know what to expect as far as a need for timing control, but it sure would be nice to have the ability to safely run more boost. Oh Yeah, that stock head gasket....Damn. Gonna leave it for a while.
Is a turbo going to be a problem playing in mud/water that MIGHT get high enough to touch it?
Installed a remote mount turbo GT28rs on a 04 Civic Si & it had a bit of lag. The car made no torque in stock form & the turbo had to go all the way at the rear. I would rather have installed it in the front of the vehicle because the charge pipe was smaller than I would have liked. Space was the biggest issue with this one.
The Taco on the other hand had NO lag & the legnth of the piping was probably equal to the internal volume of an intercooler & pipes. I have a Link ECU Turbo Link. It's an additional injector driver. At least that's what I had planned on running until I saw everyone else having good results with the stock fuel system.
