Devil Cruiser and Dissent are still in, I'll have 2 kids with me.

It is longer than an hour on dirt roads with an FJ40, lol!!!! @Clunky I would like to check out that route you mentioned. I am guessing there is a connection off Schnebly Hill road?? So 237 is off Schnebly Hill Road and cuts over to 238 or 231 or 235? The areas back there are pretty new to me but really cool. I also took the 40 down senator Highwy to Palace Station yesterday, so she got plenty of miles this weekend.

Not exactly. You need to go out to 17 from the top of Schnebly, head north on 17 for about 10 miles, then exit at Kachina Village to pick up the 237 cut over to 89A.

Ok that is what I thought, but was not sure. That must be North of Munds park

@Clunky and @tls3601; you can make your way from Schnebly Hill Rd to FR 700 by various means, then travel north to Kachina Blvd, and cut back over to 89A. If you travel through Munds Park, these are all good gravel rds, easily passable by any Cruiser. This may be the way I go, if I make it down to Sedona before camping.

Thanks @Pitch , I'll do some more route planning.

@Pitch I take it you are also a Mtn biker? Part of me is tempted to bring my Pivot with me and maybe put in a few miles on it. Taking a bike up there with you?

Just looked at Coconino map, does FR 237 intersect 89A North or South of FR 535?? Map of pumphouse wash not showing where FR 535 is in relation to where FR 237 intersects with 89A

237 comes into 89A a little north of 535 (pretty sure it is less than a mile).

What do you all reckon the camping temps will be on Schnebly Hill on Friday (Jun 23)? I've never been up there but looking for some cool evening temps.

I think the temps should be similar to Flagstaff temps.

Up on the rim now. Temperature in the low seventies right now (4:00 PM) cloudy with a few rain showers. Two nights ago thirty-seven for a low. Sedona and the drive up will probably be warm to hot but evening on the rim will cool down no matter how warm it was during the day. Propane fire-ring will feel nice. Not as nice as a wood campfire but it's legal.

Thanks for the feedback on the temp. Last time we camped in Prescott on Mingus Mountain before doing Casner and it was colder (sub freezing) than the Rim campsite (40's).

This is good news, the less time on 17 the better with a mostly stock 40

How are you coming up, SR 169 to I-17 or 89A? Like 89A except for the steep downgrade into Jerome. Then a steep climb on the way back. Use to travel from Phoenix to Flagstaff all the time in the late seventies and eighties in my 68. But doubt I would that anymore.

Hey John. I will probably go 169 to 17 but I would prefer to take 89A. I live in Prescott Valley so both 89A and 69 to 169 are both a stones throw away. I don't like being on the 17 with the 40 though. Straight six and 4:11 gears make for slower speeds. We have CRAZY drivers up here-way worse than I ever experienced when I lived in Phoenix. That said I just may take 89A all the way to 535 just to avoid 17 traffic heading North on a Friday afternoon. I will only work a morning that Friday and so hope to be rolling towards our camping area by 10:30am or so. How about you?

There are two open spots for the Casner trail. I am having a procedure done and won't be able to make it. My guest John is also out.
