I'm sure we can wrap the collective CottonLand brain around an SOA. Since you are already doing hi-steer, the only thing left would be a front cut-&-turn and a rear anti-wrap bar, right? Front shackle reversal? What springs for SOA? FJ55 rears? 60 rears? Listen to Bossman on gaining easy wheelbase and don't cut fenders until you know exactly where the wheel center will be. This is going to be awesome!
At first it felt like I was going to roll all the time. That combined with carb issue kinda sucked. I wheeled some more and got used to the feel of it. I put 2 in spacers on the wheels that made a huge difference. AFI makes it better too. I was loving it at GSMTR and asking myself why am I going to build another one. We need to go wheeling and let you drive mine on a trail and then drive one of the SUA so you can see the difference.
Nice JT ! glad ya started a thread on it. Nice plan. Just go with a V8 and get it over with ; P
I daily drove the zuk sprung over for years. no issues. you get used to its behavior. It's a cheap way to lift it. The front of zuk still is sprung over. Less crap to drag and get hung up on the rocks.
Oh yeah and stretch it and get rid of as much body as you can stand and /or rust allows. Less to paint and F up on the trail.
I've got a full front axle rebuild kit with knuckle and wheel bearings, but it doesn't have the outer pieces that fit behind the felt wipers. In fact, none of the kits I looked at include those. Maybe I'm missing something?
