The Truggy mocked up with 37” tires. I am planning on using 39” tires but these will work for a while.

114” wheel base, front axle is moved forward 3” . It’ll have fiberglass fenders on the back half. Radiator, fuel cell, batteries, spare tire and storage in the rear.

That front end narrowing is slick. It's going to look great!

Thanks for the kind words guys. I've no worked on it for a couple weeks now. Things are busy in the shop so my stuff comes last. I just released a new winch mount for the FJC and have an FJ80 in for sliders so this week should be busy as well.

Get on it! This is a nice build.

Great job on the bodywork. That narrowed front end almost looks factory

While I have been cleaning up the body work on the cab getting ready for paint, I’ve been working on the drawings for the back half tube work. Just a little glimpse of what I have so far. The main hoop will be inside the fiberglass rear fenders. The rear fenders will be flush with the cab at the front and taper back to a 36” “tailgate”

The red line is the outline of the cab. The blue cross hatch is the main hoop and bracing. The green tubes comprise the rear frame section at the tail gate. I’m working on side and top views. Old school CAD.

Wow Stan, looks good! And I always figured you for a "color outside the lines" kind of guy. :D:D:D

Martin (BirdMan)

Hey Martin

The damn computer makes it hard to color outside the lines :crybaby:

Hope all is well in your world. I need to get some information from you regarding the camera system on your trailer.

All's good here, probably call you soon. Lots to share...

Try here: I used 2 camera's 1 to watch the tow the other to watch the end of trailer.
RVCams Backup Cameras and Rear View Systems: Voyager HD 7" LCD Observation System with Two Cameras

And the flip down bracket, nice!!!!
RVCams Backup Cameras and Rear View Systems: Roof-Mount (Flip-Down) Bracket for Voyager LCD Monitors

done business with them a few times, good to go.

this is an awesome build, First-gens are the best!

I like how you're keeping the L52 on the drivetrain, that's pretty rare, but a well-built L52 is a really tough transmission.

Edit:
checked out your website, and your sliders are the best I've seen, ever consider making a line of them to fit a single-cab pickup?

Thanks Chuck. Kept the trans because a big part of this build is to show customers you don't need high HP motor and trans, then axles to have a stout trail rig/rock truck. That is why I stayed with the 22RE as well. With dual cases and low gearing in the axles it should climb well.

I can build sliders for anything that rolls up to the shop.

What year truck are you talking about. I have a stock mini truck, cab at least, no bed. It's an 82 or 83.

I admire your logic for this. There's alot of truth to what you say, and I will attest to how much my stock running gear has surpassed my expectations.

I have an 83, just like your baby here.
I'm just on the wrong end of the 'States to visit!

First draft of a side elevation. Green areas are radiator, fuel cell and battery. Radiator may end up in the front.

I had originally planned on an interior cage, not a huge fan of Exo cages. But odds are it will end up like the photo below so I went with the exo.

That's gonna be such an awesome rig!
