That “substantial” feeling is sheer mass. The older model feels more solid because it’s 600 lbs heavier.

Wow. Doing the GVWR-Payload math my LX600 weighs right at 6,000 including the 14lbs of aftermarket additions it notes.

My F250 diesel weighs right at 7900.

Another recall
Separate of the one discussed in this thread.

Call me crazy.
I dumped my 22 within two weeks of the news of the recall. I was concerned of a potential engine out resolution. It was not showing any signs of issues, but we were pretty pissed about Lexus selling us a model of a car they knowingly had issues with and were days away from an announcement. My dealer was fantastic and heard my displeasure loud and clear. They worked with me to dump the 22 at the auction. Not sure if it's a Lexus thing, but my dealer won't sell a used Lexus while it's under an open recall. They gave me what I paid for the car - also what the car was bringing at auction. (I bought it certified around 30 days before the news broke). Horrible timing on my part. I had the 22 in my possession less than two months. I was able to buy a new 24 at $12,000 less than MSRP and no add-ons. They covered the cost to PPF the front, which I had paid for on the other car. I'm sure they made a few thousand somewhere in the deal.

We just completed a 3000 mile trip in the new one. We love it and HOPEFULLY no issues with this one. I sent the 1k mile oil change off to Blackstone and will be doing the same with the 5k just to keep an eye on irregular materials.
Would love to buy an LX 600 from your daealer at $12,000 discount!!! That is not happening here. Can you provide the contact?!

I think 7-8000 off is attainable. In my situation I’ve bought 8 or 9 cars from them in the last 15 years.

I got 7k off in May from a Tampa area dealer. My local dealer wouldn’t budge off of MSRP. 3 months later, the LX is still on the lot. The market is slowing and slowing fast.

I think invoice is ~$8k off. Holdback is 2%. So they have around $10k in profit at MSRP.

6,000 Qualifies for the IRS write off!

7,230lbs gvwr (what the IRS cares about)
1,285lbs payload.
-—————
5,945lbs unladen weight.
34lbs additional add ons sticker.
—————-
5,979lbs as delivered with a full tank of gas. (Granted I only use one set of floor mats and don’t carry the hitch around usually).

Not sure if this has been posted:

Current warranty protocols will be the following:

***short block replacements until manufacturing capacity is reached for both in-use warranty support as well as assembly line support; at which time warranty replacements will transition to long block replacements for all in-use vehicles.

***Tundra short blocks will come from US-sourced TMMAL assembly; Yoshiwara trucks will receive Tahara assembly short blocks.

***Long blocks will come on-line, again, with TMMAL for Tundra, Tahara for LX600/LC300 (global platform, TNGA-F)

Current manufacturing capacity lead times for transition from short block to long block: 8-10 months.

Definitions:

TMMAL: Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama.

Tahara: Toyota Motor Corporation Tahara Manufacturing Plant.

Tahara manufactured short/long blocks **may be substituted** at the part number level for Tundra application, based on availability. (I’m assuming a number of supply chain caveats for this; will most likely happen only in the most extreme customer service situations.)

*****(This will be rare, and will require Toyota Motor Corporation manufacturing engineering sign-off due to complexity of Japan-sourced supply chain).*****

Tempura mutantur.

Alot of 300 owners are selling the 300s instead of doing the recall.

The sales of 2025/2026+ 300s will be crazy once the dust settles because all of them will eventually come back and the reputation of the early 300s has been ruined forever on the market.

Let me know when Nissan brings the Patrol back to the US
The Y92 (which is the current model of Nissan Patrol) is already being sold in the US under a different badge (Nissan Armada). The new Y93 will have its debut in the UAE early next month and I would expect that Nissan will sell these under the Armada badge as well in some countries. However, the infinity 2025 QX80 which uses the same frame and powertrain was already revealed in the US!

The nissan will face whataboutisms until they can prove their powertrain. Alot of us thought Toyota waited and released a tested product/v35 built to Toyota's legendary reliability standards.....

Only time will tell if this is a v35/q60tt equivalent or a stallion that ushers in a new era of Japanese power; one less marred by controversy or reliability concerns.

I thought there were other issues for those who upgraded from a 100/200 there?

every other minor issue or niggle that is usually a result of first year or second year production is minor compared to having to replace your engine. Even if it's for free. it's a hassle and in our market replacing something like that kills the value your car. Lots of people are just selling before they even do the recall because the moment the engine is ''opened'' or replaced in our market that just drops the value. Doesn't matter if it's a new engine or done by Toyota. Just how things work here.

I was thinking about the short/mid wheelbase Patrol

Its going to be interesting to see how toyota loyalists will operate post the recall.

I think the Toyota loyalists will stay loyal to Toyota (I would) but will avoid any Toyota, past, present or future that has that cursed engine in it even if it wasn’t included in the recall.
