Interesting Toyota recommends not removing the entire body. An aftermarket outfit down under removed the 300 quite easily
looks like a different engine, trans, non hydraulic suspension, no rear ac, and less plastic body work than an LX600.

So, is it safe to say any 2023s and up are not affected by the recall (at least not the current version)?I have 7500 on my 23 and not in the recall either. I’m not worried at all. Truck and engine seem solid with no issues.
Some were, depends when the truck was built. So, is it safe to say any 2023s and up are not affected by the recall (at least not the current version)?
Mine was built in April 2023, delivered in May 2023, and is outside of the recall. Some were, depends when the truck was built.
Here is the recallSo, is there a cutoff date or just pure luck?
Thanks! So, December 2022 production date an up should be good. At least for now. To be safe, I would restrict my search for pre-owned ones to only manufactured in 2023.
It all depends on the manufacture date, I wouldn’t bet against iDec and up. If you find an LX you like, grab the vin and put it into the recall data base to see if it’s in or out of the recall parameters. Thanks! So, December 2022 production date an up should be good. I should correct myself that my truck is a Tundra not an LX, but the recall dates are similar and its the same engine.Mine was built in April 2023, delivered in May 2023, and is outside of the recall.
For a LX or Tundra? Made in USA…..I’d dump my LX if I got an engine made in Alabama.

Good. Thanks for the clarification. I hope for the best for everyone on this rollout.Tundra.
I’m getting the procurement vibe that says LXs will get Japanese engines and US-manufactured toasters will get Alabama engines.
That's like the bare minimum. Talk about hosing someone selling them a JP build and (on top of the shame of replacing the engine), giving them a US-made one. Ouch.Tundra.

No. The engine I took pictures of is for the Tundra made in San Antonio.
LXs will get Japanese engines since the LX is manufactured at Yoshiwara.
The resale values are holding VERY strong. worst case scenario get the engine then dump it.
I am not sure why it would matter.
Weren't those 'million mile' 2UZ's made in Alabama?
