Well, we fired her up yesterday....purred like a kitten. One small problem....think I've got a bad block, going to pull the intake manifold right now and make sure the gasket are in the right side, 99% sure they are. If that's not it I will be pulling the motor today.
We are going to try new intake gaskets first, then if that doesn't work we are going to change intake manifolds first. I just don't believe it is the block.
Been talking to Jegs all day. Have a new intake manifold coming, it will be here Tuesday. JT and myself feel good that this will do the trick,....I must say Jegs is top notch!! They told me to send it back if I wanted but they feel sure that's not it. Those motors are actually manufactured and tested at GM. We tried 2 different intake manifold gaskets....still didn't fix it. I will be happy to try another intake first. I really don't want to take the motor out, that means breaking down the whole advanced adapters setup....really, really don't want to do that!!
The new intake is in. He wanted to fire it up last night but we failed to get a new oil filter. Probably better to let everything (RTV) cure overnight and then ass water and oil. I'm sure he's chompin' at the bit to fire it up. I bet this fixes it.
