Yep. Jrob acquired a really clean, straight, unique truck......as Chris said, he'll have a lot of fun transforming this one!

where is Jrob's 40 at in those pics?

It's at our shop in Richland.
Hope your O.K. from that heart attack.

might need some help on sliders...when I get to that point!

That's the great thing about owning a 40 versus an 80- stuff is cheaper. Take for example sliders, for the 80 they are $700-$900, the 40 around $250. and that was for a sweet setup from 4+ that had the 40 step integrated in the slider.

The only reason i built mine for the 80 was to save some money. unfortunately i didn't save time just some money.

i would suggest you buy em for the 40. you have so many styles to choose from and they are very affordable and most of the hard work is done for ya.

if you buy a set that needs to be welded i would be happy to weld em up for you.

Just a little update on the progress.

We got the carb cleaned/rebuilt. new plug wires, hoses, cleaned/flushed the radiator, WCT49 checked steering, all in all it is running pretty good. However, on the way home it began missing and I heard the belt slipping??? Will have to check that out tomorrow.........

I will begin a thread in the tech section when we begin the build. Any input on anything.......let me hear it. open to suggestions.

Who did the rebuild? You need a master to get her running right. Jeff Davis seems to need the services of our buddy Myron Watson about once a year (not because Myron does shoddy work). He can get her running like a top. Holla if you need the number. When is the lift going on? Keep me posted.

I used Grover Pace...he is a guy that has been around florence for years. It's running pretty good. I got it back Friday and installed it. Grover is going to come to the office and fine tune it this week. If he can't get it right, I will holla at cha.

Anybody named Grover has got to be good!

Any luck with the tuning today?

found out the carb problem!......JACKED UP LINKAGE!! (just like chris, i guess). The linkage is not letting the second barrel open when it is needed. Should have that fixed Monday.

I wonder if I have the same issue?!?

if the truck is cold, you really can't notice it. After driving about 10 min. at highway speed the engine gets warm and uses more fuel....we figured this out after a FEW hours of troubleshooting today.

My problem happens when the engine is under load like climbing a hill or a big rock. It just bogs down and wants to die unless the clutch is pushed in.

Hell Creek is out of lift kits(talked to him wednesday). They will not have any until Febuary...at least. I asked if he could guarantee me a kit by the second or third week of febuary and he said no. Should I wait or what?
