Looking good bud, the rig is coming along nicely. I've enjoyed seeing the progress

Thanks for the reply's guys, hard to spend to much time on the Toyota with being married and all the honey do's of having a new house and all.. It sure does not look like the same truck that I brought home, the Toyota has been alot of fun.

Sitting at work today I was making a list of what I had to get ready for the weekend fix the leaking new transmission cooler, text, sleeping bag, fire wood, spare parts, tools, adult beverages ...... Man I can't wait for the long weekend. 1st trail ride since I've build the truck!

I'm with you bud, it'll take me a few nights this week and probably a late night Wed night wrenching before I say I'm ready but thats nothing new it seem to be a bad tradition for me pulling a 2 - 3 a.m. wrenching to get ready but I'm sure looking forward to it. :D

Looks good, I'm currently looking for a 85 front axle to put under my 88 4runner. I might get some tips from you when the time comes for the SAS.

Albert is the right guy to talk to. He needs to show you a before and after pics of his truck its an amazing transformation. John post a pic of the Runner in the "post a pic of your rig thread" in the clubhouse. You have a very nice platform to start with.

Very nice job on it, Jason had seen it as well. Will have to let the wife know it would be a great stocking stuffer.

Great work Albert its coming along nicely, I'm gald to see someone is getting some work done  The rest of us are just talking about it.

Not really I had not giving any thought to a skidplate . Do you have an idea on one for the bumper ? If so i'd like to hear it or see a sample picture...... I'm not finish welding on it yet so there's time

No just wandering if it was in the works? How much $ is it going to cost build it, probably alot cheaper than buying one.

Very similar to Chris' bumper on the Gilmer thread he jsut put up today..

Hey no one else is working on thier Cruisers ? Well got the bumper painted up ,winch and lights mounted . It's nice to have the winch there to use on other peoples rides :whoops: I think I just jinked myself... anyway here is what it turned out like.
I used the four factory bolts and made a 3/8" plate 22" long to sandwish the back of the frame (in front of the radiator) to also attach to the front of the bumper to give it more surface area for strenght when pulling.

Also put a Superwinch controler for the winch (1591
Three Position Heavy Duty Rotary Switch) to act as my in cab controler. Now just need to make a run to pick up a few feet of battery cable to hook up the winch to the solenoid box.

Nice work Albert :)

Looks like your winch ended up alot lower than mine did, probably will help get more air to your radiator. I figure mine isnt getting much besides what the fan pulls in ;).

BTW, wendsday when I come in I am going to Mieneke to see about gettign the brakes worked on on the dually, then when I get home that evening me and my brother will swap the tires abck out and I will be able to get them back to you when evers.

Looks great and simple might have try that one day when I get a winch.:grinpimp:

Scott, Was able to get a few days away from work so me and my have a deal on how much time to spend in the stores and work on my project ;)

Josh, we need a side by side shot of our trucks to see, but yea I think the winch is mounted lower than yours. That was my goal to get air flow for the radiator and trans cooler. The lights look like they block air flow but our grills are solid behind the lights , so I didn't lose air flow there. Hope I did not goof up by keeping it low, we'll see as time goes on. Either way it's all good it offers better protection than what I had on there.

John S., No time like the present get started on that bumper now and wait for the winch to show up. It you build it they will come :grinpimp:
