Tower of murder baby.
I tried to resist, I really did...

But, now I done gone and done it.

It's like driving my couch down the highway. Complete with cooler and jello shooter maker in the console...:hillbilly:

Even has this little dial that makes funky little axle pictures show up on the dash...dunno what that's about...:flipoff2:

Anyone wanna buy a 70? :grinpimp:

Good work! But i think your camera is in "mirror" mode. Things seem to be upside down, or on the wrong side or somethin'!? Goofy "wrong side drive" trucks!:flipoff2:

Yeah. RHD sucks ass...but truck is pretty nice so I figger I can live with it...

Looking forward to pounding down that nitinat road and arriving with all my fillings....

asutherland, yep, has the winch, haven't tried it, but the remotes in one of the back storage bins so I'll give it a whirl one of these days.
won't be much wheeling going on with this one, too much spendy s*** to break. I can't enjoy wheeling when I'm worrying about how much kissing a tree is going to cost me.

Need a cheap wheeler for that, or at least I do.

Funny thing about this truck, if you look closely at that headlight, you'll see this dudes solution to the "RHD" headlight problem....paint out the section of the lens that shines the wrong way, mechanic tested it , grumbled a bit apparently, and then had to pass it. Beats buyin' 400 dollar light kits...

You lucked out, they are not supposed to pass them unless they have DOT or E-Code stamped on the headlight glass. NO exceptions. Good for you tho!:grinpimp:

NICE on having the winch controller. Mine was missing :censor: so I had to wire in a Warn one instead.

your going to dig it. there fairly cheap to lift, very capable trucks.
Get an egt in it right away. it will change the way you drive.....

heh, you've never seen me drive...

Have a pyro in my 3b powered bj70, never goes over 900....me sloooow...;p

But yeah, that's the plan, pyro , tranny cooler...mebbe a tranny temp guage. Once I flog the 70 I'll have a couple bucks to throw at this thing, and a bit more spare time....
I'll probably grab another one of those little Auber digital pyros, I quite liked that little guage, cheap and worked.

dunno if I'll bother with a lift, tho I hear they ride a bit better.

Lift in my 70 has been giving me the Murtaughs lately, so I don't mind the geriatric lowrider step in.

asutherland-yeah I heard about that, but I figger this might have snuck through because it was probably one of the first 80's imported, it's a 1990, and when he imported it, he had to wait one boat ride to make sure it was 15 yrs old.
Plus, the inspection was done in qualicum.. but I'll have it in the back of my mind that if I ever get pulled over by the a-hole cop I could get a vi notice...but then, having driven a cruiser for the past 13 years....that's kindof ALWAYS been the case....

Wombat, I'd love to make the 70 a wheeler, but it's purpose at the moment is to top the bank account back up a bit, otherwise it's Mr.Noodles and KD for this honkey till spring...:hillbilly:

Congratulations! Welcome to your retirement.

You'll still be able to play.... Just not as hard now;)

Where do you get them from? I've been meaning to install a pyro in mine to keep an eye on things..........:hillbilly:

apparently it can, I never hooked anything else up to it. seemed like a pretty sophisticated little whizjammer. All I ever did was set a max egt number so the little light came on when I went above that number.

You can hook that up to set off a buzzer if you want, but I didn't bother. truck never gets over 900 even if I push it.

I may look into that this time around, be cool if it could act as a tranny temp guage too.

I especially liked the price when I bought it first time around, less than half what an autometer costs, and I was never that impressed with the autometer one I had. seemed touchy.

2nd what crusty said:steer:

yeah I am thinking about buying an auber for my dad.
Can you post a shot where you mounted it in your 70?
I would love to check one out in person.

err, that's gonna be tough, old girl just drove out the driveway with the new owner....and I don't think I ever took a pic of the dash.

( other than the one two days ago, when it rolled over 400,000....sold it with 400,006 on it....least I got to see the turn of the century....:p)

kinda sad, had that old girl for a long time...

but at least it sold quick...had a freakin bidding war going on...people trying to offer me more than it was listed for...crazy...

My gauge install was a little ghetto, I cut a piece of plastic ( actually from a buddies rubbermaid tote...was the right colour...he didn't seem as pleased with the result as I was....)

fit in the space under the radio, so that bit of plastic radio surround kinda held it in, and I just cut a hole in that for the Auber.

Worked well, cost nothing, and looked pretty decent...thin aluminum would've worked too, but I was lazy and that rectangular hole is a pain in the ass in alum...the tote cut with a knife...

they're nice little gauges tho, had that one for 2 or 3 years, no issues. had an autometer before that and the thing was always doin weird s***.
