I know all there is to know about FJ80's, 100's and 200's when it comes to values, etc but nothing about FJ40's. This said though, I've always wanted one but just don't know the market.

I'm looking at this one truck on eBay and the guy will take $15k. Is this a good buy or should I steer clear?

Thank you all!

It's heavily modified, has a new paint job so you'll need to make sure there's not a lot of bondo, make sure the V8 conversion was done well and the seller needs to throw in windshield wiper arms for that price. There are stock runners out there for a better price, it just depends on your flavor.

Its a good looking rig. I would look it over very carefully before putting any value to it. It is not very original but it has a lot of the typical upgrades that people do to a 40. If it is what you are looking for and don't mind the aftermarket stuff/resale value then go for it. Its at the high end for what it is.

The Ebay link says its over? It is though a nice looking rig. Its a good start. There is a good market for rigs like that. It takes more mod's to build a rig that old, that's why I say it's just a good start.

Meh... there's lots of work but from the pics I am not sure it was done very well.

The question is, is it worth it to you??

Yeah can't tell how good the paint job is. For the rest you gotta test drive it to see how well it was done.

Value wise to resell generally it's better to have it stock.

However if the mods are done well, as a daily driver and if you want more of these modern conveniences anyway, the value is that it is cheaper to buy it already done by the PO.

The. Picture of the dash makes me question the quality of the work not sure what the lights are on either side of instrument panel
But the time it would have taken to remove or even mask those rather than paint over them and it's for sale right after its painted what other corners where cut to make it look good to flip

No matter the subject, that is quite the statement to make.

The extent of what one thinks they know, is only how much they feel they need to.

Thank you guys for your input!
