Is this stuff worth scavenging?

I'm thinking "Yes". All of the glass is good, all signal lights are good, bumpers good, very nice looking dash. Appears to be abandoned, but I know the owner of the property so could give him a call. Couldn't get the hood open, unfortunately, but I believe it might have power steering. Also has a really nice rubber matting covering the floors, with the Toyota logo on it. Roof actually looks good too. And, it has factory shoulder seat belts up front. All door hardware is there too.

either a 78 or 79, 79 could have PS and maybe a/c but you'd see the a/c thru the window. PS would have a cooler coil on driver side next to radiator, you
can see the coil thru the grill.
lots of rust.

Door stamp said manufactured in '78. Didn't catch the month. Yes, it's pretty much gone body wise. I was just thinking some of the parts might be worth the effort.

If I had means, I'd scavenge and salvage every deal that came available, literally saving any piece that wasn't corroded beyond reasonable repair.

Barring another deep recession and evidenced by the continuing success of 40s on the auction block, personally think the Year of the Pig is coming.

if you get it for parts I am interested on the rear emblem. Joke, but not so muchh in fact. It seems to be a good parts source, the body need much much work to be decent, even the roof in my mind.

That is a source of some great parts indeed! Don't delay !

OK, I'll keep y'all posted. Can't contact the owner of the property until Monday at the earliest, if he's in town working. I'm tempted to get started already. It's clearly been sitting there for at least 2 or 3 months, apparently abandoned. Check out the 08 registration. What's the best way to take the emblems off? Aren't they pressed in, with tabs holding them behind the holes? Anyone know if the dash is interchangeable with the earlier style dashes? I know they're somehow different, but the width dimension must be the same.
Oh, and I think the roof is A-OK. None of that discoloration is covering up rust, from what I noticed.

If those are open slotted front fender air intake grills, I'd be interested in both sides.

Feel like a bit of an ambulance chaser... o_O

If you do part it, I would be interested in the restractable seat belts and their buckles, tailgate handle, orange 4 emblem on the tailgate, and the rubber mat for the back cargo area, if available. Does it have AC? Is there and AM/FM factory unit? I'd be interested in that as well.
Thanks!

It does have AC. Or, at least has the cooler in front of the radiator for it. Can't remember about the radio. I will be calling soon this AM on its status, and hope to have some good news. None of the doors would open, except for driver's door, and hood wouldn't open. Found a key in the glove box. Clutch pedal is locked up, but when I turned the key the starter lurched it forward.

Oh, for the question of where it's located. That'd be Alaska. Maybe not so easy to move the roof elsewhere. But, we'll see. These 55's are so freakin' cool, I may just have to buy one for myself. Still would share the parts off this one, though. :)

i know justin at redline would be interested in the visors if they're good. i'd like the tailgate handle. and we need a tailgate relay for late model (78-79) for my bros rig

I would be interested in the rubber mat for the front seats if available ...

Msg left with property owner, but no response now for two days. Looking through the truck indicates the guy is a real hoarder. Lots of replaced and spare parts, including window glass, a brand new clutch disc-dunno maybe he'll be back. The floors are actually pretty decent, except for driver's. Still think it's not worth the effort to resurrect. Windows roll up and down and driver's door opens but otherwise can't get into it, especially with all the crap stashed everywhere. If I hear anything by Fri. will post it up, otherwise there may not be an update for about a month because I'll be gone for awhile.

Addition: The visors are there, but not in good shape. Pax side vinyl is really cracked, and driver's is duct taped together.
