I thought I would introduce myself.

My name is Jack.
My current rig is a '97 LX 450 with the factory lockers.
I've got OME mediums and Bilstein Shocks.
Removed the running boards and third row seats.
Running 285/75r16's
It's my desert/trail/highway rig.

Keeping it fairly stock, just to keep the driveability. I've had and built a '90 Wrangler for the rocks, sold it. Bought an '88 4runner SAS'd it, Marlined,etc...got tired of the rocks, sold it and decided to go back to my desert exploring roots. I still enjoy the local trails, just not interested in doing Rubicon/Fordyce/Johnson Valley type trips anymore.

If you see a beige LX450 with NV plates LOCRWLN on it, stop, wave or just say hi.

Jack

Back in a Toyota 4x4

Good evening. I am fairly new to Reno, and look forward to participating in this group. I was very involved in Toyotas for many years, and owned and wheeled many different models "back in the day." After a 5 year urban experiment, I now am back in the west, and just picked up a ratty old 82 long bed.
So after renewing my TLCA membership, I am sending in my introduction to the local chapter.
I look forward to meeting you all,
Grant

p.s. if anyone enjoys carb work, my new old 82 is going to need a lot of attention. When it warms up, I might buy the beer and pizza for some assistance.

Welcome.
Keep an eye on this forum, I post up meeting times/locations and trail run information here. You can also check our web site http://battleborncruisers.org/ , unfortunately the club web site is broken so you can't register there.

I'm assuming you have a mini truck with the 22R engine?

Howdy folks,
I'm Harold and at the moment down in Floriduh but have had two interviews so far for a job in Reno and am pretty fired up to get it and move out thataway. So, if it happens I will certainly be seein about meeting up with some BBCNers at the earliest opportunity. My ride: Her name is Ginny, she is a 64 FJ40 with a F155/4 speed sittin on 75 or newer axles assemblies. At the moment she is down to frame as I have been building her back up after the initial purchase. Hopefully, if the move happens I will have her farther along so I don't have to move 30 bazillion parts. If so, well I guess I just get more boxes. Either way, I wanted to say howdy.
BTW Thanks Dan for the help on the home info.

Looking forward to meeting ya'. If it looks like you are heading this way, let me know, I have a good friend that has been in the Realty business in Reno for 20 plus years, she will take really good care of you.

Good luck with the job search, glad I could help.

BTW there are a lot of Dan's in the club, 4 to be exact. Which is around 20 - 25% of the membership I think. :grinpimp:

Thanks Jack and Dan,
OK one of da Dans. lol. I am really hoping this thing will work out as I am so tired of this flat/humid/overcrowded place.
Talk at ya later,
Harold

I was going threw the Introductions Sticky and relized that I had not introduced myself the Mud way.

My name is Josh Kern, and I also have a problem. Landcruisers are my addiction. My FJ60 has been in the family since it was new. I believe it had three miles on it when my parents drove it off the lot in 1984. It was to say a family car for the first part of its life. It was used for hunting, fishing camping, and getting grocerys.

I have done my best to maintain it. It has a rebuilt 2F with 225,000 on the clock. It has a meduim OME lift with 33 10.50's. Those are really the only modifacations. I have Black nerf bars, but plan on replacing those with sliders.

I have only been able to attend a few meeting (last Year), and able to only attend one run out to High Rock. I enjoyed it so much I plan on continuing to a BBCNN member as long as I own my 60. (Always) I have been to two TLCA sactioned events (Mcgrew, and PMC swap meet) I will return this year to the Mcgrew trail ride.

The 60 is no longer my daily driver I have 96 Tacoma to accoplish that task. I also have a 71 Fj40 that is in the process of a frame off "redo". I would'nt call it a restoration, I'm not that good of a mechanic.

Anyways I'm right in the middle of building my wifes "DREAM HOME" in Adin, CA. (North of Susanville on HWY 139) I work for CAL-FIRE and usually don't have much free time in the summer, except for vaction that I have to plan for the October before. I love to hunt, especially out in Nevada for Chuckar, and love to fish. Anyways just wanted to introduce myself, I might be able to attend some meeting this summer due to a Job location change. Thanks Josh Kern

Hi, my name is Will Berry, I'm in Washoe Valley. I've got a comatose '74 55 that I'm about to triage. It's been a member of the family for 30 years, we're hoping for the best. Seriously going to need to learn to weld. I haven't sorted out where your next meeting is, but I might drop by the Eastlake 7-11 before your Jumbo ride.

Hi Will,
Our club meetings are always the 2nd Tuesday of the month (unless it happens to fall on a holiday then we move it typically back 1-week) at the Round Table Pizza (in the party room in the back) almost next door to the Raleys on Peckham and South Virginia (diagonally across from the Atlantis Casino). at 6:30PM.

Come check it out...

Dan (1 of a few Dans)

I really dig those 55's. If you need help, lemme know...Its fun to see other people (besides myself) go broke wrenching their cruisers to life!:D

Look forward to meeting you!

Keith

BTW,
WELDING is the most valueable skill that I learned for owning my rig!
It will save you a TON O CASH!

By all means come to a meeting.
And feel welcome to show up for the run. Almost any 4WD should do fine on this one it's pretty mild. Or if somebody has an open seat I'm sure you could hitch a ride.

Welcome. Sounds like a nice collection of 40's. Stay tuned for info on runs, it's kinda slow at this time of year we get more active as the weather gets better and more trails open up.

Hi, I'm Adrian and I'm out here in Yerington. Picked up a 74 FJ40 back about 9 months ago. Since then I've been addicted to cruisers. Have some work that needs to be done to the beast, but not in a hurry. Hope to meet up with some of you guys on some of the runs.
