08 Tacoma TRDOR 4x4

My name is timmer

I live out on LV's west side and have for 10 years

Picked up a 08 Tacoma access cab 4X4 236hp V6 w/ OC& TO pkg a few months back and drove the Jacoby Gulch trail (in My stock Tacoma) at the Toyota Trail Teams Invitational up in Big bear California.(posing w/ FJC) I had a pretty good time.

I really didnt get all the info I was looking for but learned enough that I am interested in getting in a bit deeper.

I am planning on driving to Great Basin NP in June and want some more pointers / practice before heading out.Im not really interested in any extreme modifications but might entertain some basic bolt ons. Mostly interested in getting a good recovery kit and some gear together for the trip and some hands on local driving skills.

Got stuck quite a bit in my youth but havent been doing much in the last 12 or so years.

Hello my name is Jimmy and I will be moving out to Las Vegas in about 18 months. Got to do a yr tour Korea before I get there but I can't wait. Any way I just thought I would introduce myself and say hi.

I will be visiting the area at the end of Oct for a few weeks and would not mind meeting a few people if possible!

Anyway I have an 07 FJ Cruiser modified with a 3" OME HD lift and 35" Mickey T's MTZ's. I had IPOR do up some custom bumpers front and rear with a swing out. I wheel it had when I got time and have broken quite a few parts along the way but it keeps on truckin!

Here are a few pics:

Nice to meet everyone at the SNLC meeting

Hey guys...it was nice to meet Steve, Michael, Brian, Tim, Roy and everyone else last night. I'm looking forward to being a member of SNLC and getting to participate in some great rides with everyone. I have a '96 FZJ:

3" OME suspension lift
33" BFG A/T's
Slee front bumper
Full engine rebuild
Bullet racing ceramic headers

...and of course the list of "I wants" is never ending.

Ciao!;p

Pleasure meeting you last night, sweet 80.

See you on the trails

...Weeell it took a bit longer to get moved up here than originally planned. (posted back in april) Finnaly settled around Craig / 95 in the Northwest Valley (ish?) close to work.
No cruisers up yet...still snugly waiting in the shop back home in Phoenix. however, I have my "stock" 01' 4runner here as my daily driver.
I am looking forward to meeting some of the local NV guys ASAP, is the meeting still at chili's on Decatur / Sahara?
Is it meet n' greet, or a meet n' head out to wheel?

I seen a nicely used FJ Cruiser last night at Timbers on Craig / 95, full length roof rack, "Trail Customized" rear stock bumper, 35's and the obligatory: "Buckle Up, I Want To Try Somthing" sticker. Is that a member here?

Anyhow, I look forward to being an ambassador from the AZ - Copper State Cruisers during my stay in Southern Nevada, and can't wait to "kick the tires" and hit some trails with you all...

Josh

Here's some "driveway" wheelin on the two rigs:

Nice Rigs FJ40LVR:)

Thanks, I just wish I could use em' more. I commute to Vegas weekly from Phoenix for work since February...so not much time left to wheel any more, or turn wrenches. The weekends are usually getting caught up with the kids / yard / wife / etc.
I haven't been able to keep with this build thread in quite a while, but here is the cruiser revival, might be interesting if anyone has a 40 and need tricks for disk conversions or power steering conversion - click here: FJ40LVR

Run after Turkey Day?

Anybody have info on the SNLC run after Tanksgiving...I seem to remember 11/29? Some trails off of Powerline road?

Happy Thanksgiving,

Let’s go 4Wheeling instead of fighting the crowds this weekend. The SNLC November run will be this Saturday, November 29, 2008.
We will be going to the Gold Butte area south of Mesquite . There is a chance that this area will be closed to 4wheeling in the near future, so we thought that we would go out and do a run there. This will be a fairly easy scenic run.

We will be meeting at the Petro Truck Stop at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway north of Las Vegas on I-15. We plan on leaving at 8:30 AM Saturday morning. The run will be an all day affair, so bring your lunch, chairs, etc. We will be able to top off the gas tanks in Mesquite .

Please RSVP if you plan on joining us for a fun day of trail riding.
