Jumping back into this thread. It would be great to start connecting with more local 100-series owners. I bought my completely stock '06 LX in May 2019 and I'm just now getting around to upgrading the tires with the hope of more adventures in the near future.

I'm on the fence between 285/65/18 and 275/70/18 KO2s. I'm still running AHC, stock running boards, and stock wheels, and still driving 90% on pavement. Eventually I would like to get an ARB front bumper, White Knuckle sliders, and Dissent rear bumper, but I'm not planning any of those mods any time soon,...maybe in a few years. I'm leaning towards 285/65 as I'm hoping the 285 size will line up closer to the fender (compared to the 275/70) without needing spacers, and also fit in the OE spare location; however, it seems like most owners recommend the 275/70/18 size.

I understand the tire size debate may be like beating a dead horse on these forums, but I'm open to more input, especially from all the local SNV owners on here. Thanks!

I have 285/75/16s on stock rims. The offset off the stock wheels still made the wheels not flush. I am now using spacers to make it flush with the fenders.

The 275/70/18 will give you more height. If you want more girth 285/65/18 will give you that. I went for more height on my 06Lx. I used 1.25” aluminum bora wheel spacers also, did a mild sensor lift and heated the the wheel well splash guard on the pinch weld area. So far no rubbing on Neutral mode on full IFS compression and/or locked turn when I took it to the trails.

You could stuff 295 70r18 under there too. If I’m not mistaken the coopers fit. If all else fails do the AHC lift trick and it shouldn’t have a problem.

Howdy, always like this area. Going to be visiting Pine Valley Utah for the summer and it appears this is the closest club. You guys do runs etc. in SW Utah? Right now all I have is a stock 21 Tacoma TRD OR. Need to fix my pic...

Hi, welcome to Vegas, or at least the SNLC. I’ll echo Matt’s post above. We don’t meet regularly or as a club anymore, but most of us drive/camp/meet up often. Please post on the SNLC form and several will join you. We have an active Land Cruiser community here, but very little online presence.
