Not to sure on the camping thing. Kinda the reason I have to duck out of the first trail cleanup. Being only 4 weeks out I really need to stay close to home and reachable via phone. I promised my daughter that we'd go camping soon. My mom and uncle have about 60 acres between them just south of Ashfork and I'd really like to take her up there for a weekend after the baby is born. It'd be nice to have the 60 ready by then. I got 4 weeks to really hit her hard. I need some friggin inspiration.

Yeah Clay, just wait till you see his pig. It's so friggin clean. The colors aren't quite stock but it is one seriously bad ass ride.

Ill have to get some downloaded then ill post em. Ill work on it. So who all goes to the sonic cruise thing. Is it everyone from all AZ or just from the valley mostly. Im anxious to see some more cruisers I never see any out by me. Oh and when is this sycamore thing supposed to take place

LOOKS mean is the key word... :D
By the way the DNS is up but I have not had time to up load the site yet. It should be up tomorrow.

Greetings fellow Zonie Cruiser Heads. My name is Cliff Daniel and I live in Tempe. My rig is a 77 FJ40 I've owned for about 11years (had a big 'ol Chevy truck before that). It's list of mods & stuff is longer than I want to type. Basically it's still mostly a Toyota except for the engine, trans and suspension. I've been a member of the Honeywell (Allied Signal) 4x4 club for many years. I'm a former member/officer/founding member of the AzLCA. I also belong to the Yahoo Groups Land Cruiser group but it's pretty calm there. I'm happy to see some local interest in forming an all Toyota inclusive club. And I'm interested in seeing what you guys are up to in the future.

I would be up for a father - daughter camp out. My girl is 8. Anyone else interested?

I think this is a great idea-- I have three girls, 8, 5, and 2. My wife does not object to off-road adventures if I take the little ones.

Welcome Cliff I also have a 40 that looks a lot like yours but 33 less CI. We meet briefly a couple years ago at the local Jamboree along with John Hunter. Post up the spec’s on your 40. You can read on the other thread about the time and place of our meetings.

You can get involved right-a-way with this club...about 10+ years ago I went on a run with the AzLCA starting at Upper Sycamore and ending at Verde river (needle rock) do you remember the direction for that run. Just last night I was talking with TOOLSRUS about finding out direction for an up coming run...hell you can even lead it :D Have you been on that run with AzLCA?

Sorry I don't remember meeting you. But my memory for names sucks. I'll look forward to meeting you again for the 1st time. :D Was that the year of the "great rain" at the Jamboree? I was hanging out under John's canopy for the raffle that night. By the way, I believe his last name is Kanicsar. Hunter is the name of his fab shop (some names do stick with me). I barely remember that Sycamore run, I think I was on it. Going north to south on some trail out there. I remember thinking it was a bad idea because we ended up on tribal land. Some indian law enforcement types don't care much for that and can do whatever they like with you and your vehicle.

"Post up the spec’s on your 40" Allright but I've fooled with this thing so much over the years I forget half the stuff half the time. You can see some action shots here:

Cliff's FJ40 "Twister"
1977, Desert tan with pearl? (I didn't do it) plenty of AZ pinstripe and dirt graphics. Equipped from the ground up:
*35 x 12.50 Goodyear Wrangler MTR's on beat up AR Nugget chrome steel wheels.
*Stock axles, 4.11 ratio, lockrites front and back.
*Heinz 57 suspension, rear spring over with stock springs/shackles and home made anti wrap bar. Front still sprung under with Rancho 4" springs minus the second leaf, shackle reversal from LC Advance Handling.
*Driveshafts from Tom Woods, rear CV, front is a 2 piece w/carrier bearing design by Dave Gore at Renegade (great guy).
*Early "3 spd" T-case built by Miles Brown (anyone remember him?) Advance Adapter to a Muncie SM465 trans, suspended on a custom cradle/skid plate by Renegade, Centerforce clutch.
*Chevy SB bored and stroked "383" fed by a Q-jet/K&N, on board air and tank, Ron Davis Alum rad, Optima batt in a custom tray from Hill Performance, Saginaw power steering set up by Renegade.
*Home built family cage/cooler-can rack/hard half doors/rocker guards, tuffy console, rear bench seat.

Still have the hardtop in the garage, but once you've gone topless it's hard to go back. :D

That's all I can think of at the moment. I pretty much goes where I point it. And if it won't I probably shouldn't go there anyway.

Cliff you are right on John's last name....now that I think about it

Cool pictures of Cliff Hanger (at least I think it is). You must have the Q-jet dial in pretty good?

So is the Needle Rock area the land in question or some other part?

Cliff Hanger? Yeah I think some of the Moab ones were taken there. Not sure which your refering to though. Q-jets are as close to EFI as you can get without being there. I have had some issues with the crap gas they sell us here lately though.

Needle Rock is on the other side of the Verde from the Sycamore area. If you go through Fountain Hills to Rio Verde and keep going till/when the road turns west you'll be there. I think its a pay rec area now.

I'm trying to figure out where the tribal land is from Sycamore to Needle Rock that spoke about is.

Needle Rock and the area South of it is pay rec area.
