Welcome Gary! My mom lives in Chino Valley. We'll have to get together next time I'm up. My buddy Mike is moving back to Prescott this weekend with his 80 and 45 wagon. Watch for me blowing through town in the Sequoia towing my beige 40 this weekend on my way to Ashfork for the holiday. I'll be on Channel 19.

My name is Gary and I Moved to Prescott AZ 4 1/2 years ago, I first saw this pig in very poor shape 3 yrs ago and loved it`s style and bought it soon after. I have done many muscle car resto`s but never a Landcruiser. I soon found out how hard it was to get parts for the pig but made do and I do not think I will get rid of, hopefully pass it on to my 1 1/2 daughter when she is old enough to handle it. I have done the body and paint, droped in a sbf 302 with a Marks adapter, still working on the interior. This is my daily driver and has been a very reliable vehicle. Still need to do a P/S and disc conversion to it, so if any of you have any parts let me know.... Prescott Pig

If im arounf when u do the PS i could give you a hand i just finished doing it on my 71 last summer. its soooo easy.

Hi, I'm Steve. Former AzLCA member now in southeast Georgia working for the Feds. Started off with a 1959 FJ-25 when I turned 16 back in 1967 and I've had about 11 FJ40s over the years. Current 'Cruisers include a '78 FJ-40 (stock drive line and very mild mods) and a recently acquired '59 FJ-25 (dead stock and going to stay that way) to replace the one I was stupid enough to sell 30-some years ago. I'll post some pics in a bit.

While I was still in AZ, did a lot of the Martinez Canyon area, Bradshaws and did a bunch of Cruise Moabs. Taught the 4x4 class at Scottsdale Community and used one of my 40s for SAR for the Sheriff's office.

I get back to PHX as often as I can (parents still live in Prescott) and I'm looking forward to meeting all of you soon. It's great to see this club come together!

Welcome Steve - I live in Sedona but travel for work projects in California, So I am a long distance member at the moment. Click on desertdude in my signature and check out what I did to my 78 FJ40 last July. See you out in AZ sometime

Thanks, Dude. Ah, not only a fellow AZ 'Cruiserhead, but also a fellow guitarist. (We should start a musician/cruiser thread. ;) ) You're a PRS and Roland man; I'm into Gretschs, Godin, Takamine and too many others. Currently working on a classical/jazz CD.

Also, glad to hear that I'm not the only long-distance member. Hope to meet you soon. Maybe a collaboration?

Steve

Sure thing on the colab Steve - I also have a taylor 12 string - and a Santa Cruz 6 string - I was just checking out a few new guitars ( need some more inspiration that only a new guitar can bring)

I am working in Protools and Live while I am traveling - using an Apple powerbook to track. The classical/jazz CD sounds like a great project-

Lets start that music thread - too much to say here:)\\

So back on topic - Welcome to Copperstate Cruisers !

Hello All!

My name is Michael and I live in Flagstaff...
I did the 'Jeep thing' for the past 5 years, and believe me, I understand! I sold my built CJ7 a week ago and picked up a white 94 FZJ80 in awesome condition last Monday down in Tempe. I've been hooked on the FZJ80's for quite awhile now, and lurking on IH8MUD for some time now.

BMAN -- I've tried downloading the membership app several times from the site, and it isn't coming through...

Michael

Welcome Michael, glad you are here.
BTW the 94 is THE best model ever made. Everyone else here secretly wants one. :D

Welcome Hondo! Congrads on the upgrade to the 80! We are doing a "stocker friendly" run next weekend in Jerome, good time to break that thing in?

I'll have Kyle check the link and I'll get one sent out to ya.

Oh yeah, WELCOME!

Quite possibly... I'll be down in the Prescott area for work that week and may stay over in order to meet up with ya'll... Like GeoRoss, I also get paid to fourwheel --- I work in private-land forestry!

ps. Is there a local source for OME Suspensions?

Hondo,
PMK me with your email addy and I'll send you the PDF app.

Hello all

I would like to introduce myself as well as My father (doesn't do much of the internet thing)

We both live in AZ my father in Scottsdale and myself in Goodyear. Both of us are Rob Clark (jr and III respectively)
I had a 77 FJ 40 for about 5 years but had to get rid of it for a more reliable highway ride for a while. I just moved back to AZ after being in Cali going to dental school for the past year.

My father has a 97 CE locked cruiser with the usual Slee products and ARB bumper and MtR's with OME lift, two tone gray.

I am in full time search mode right now trying to find an 97 80series I am looking for a 40th edition in the dark gray with lockers and will travel ;) I thought I found one this past weekend but it was already sold....went up tue and was sold by thur locally here. But can't wait to get it and start modding it.

Welcome Rob and Rob! This board is a great place to find your poison. Good luck with the hunt and post up when you find the rig you're looking for.

Yeah Welcome! - good luck on that search for the 80- low miles - lockers are getting harder to find. see you out there!

Thanks for the welcome. I will keep you posted on my search and look forward to meeting some of you on the trail. It's nice to be back in AZ.

New to Landcruisers

I just purchased my first cruiser about a month ago. I have a 76 FJ40. I have the 2F motor and a lock-right rear locker. Also my FJ has a 3 inch lift. I live in Surprise, AZ and am married with a 5 and 7 year old who love riding in jump seats. I am pretty excited about going on some trips with your club if possible. I am not even close to being a mechanic but with my Haynes manual in hand I will try most jobs with the assistance of my dad or brother-in-law.

I find your forum very resourceful. Hopefully after learning more about my cruiser I can add some info.

My FJ runs good but seems to have some of the usual problems. Transmission and transfer case exchanging fluids, e-brake getting oiled by leaking rear seal on transfer case. I also think I may have exhaust leak. Pretty bad exhaust ( kind of gassy) smell when I pull into the garage. My wife hates it!!!! Oh well!!!

Hope to communicate again soon!!!

Hello Everyone:

My name is Juan and I just joined the club. I have a 97' Lexus LX 450, locked, 35's, ARB bumper, waiting for Hanna sliders and rear bumper. I started wheeling 12 years ago when I moved out here from NJ. I bought my first ever 4 wheel drive, a 1970 FJ 40 with a bench seat and 3 speed on the colum; you couldn't find second gear with a search warrant. I then moved up to an 85 FJ60 that took me to most local trails and Moab twice. I got tired of shifting, sold it to a buddy of mine and the rest is history. I made the Jerome trip this past weekend and gotta tell you that this is a great club with awesome people!!
