That is an absolutely gorgeous 80, Techsis - inside and out. Very inspiring and fantastic work!

That looks great, now you just need the chrome door handles to finish it off
I did not even know they had an option for chrome handles. I like your Focal speakers, a nice upgrade from my basic Pioneers (but both are so much better than stock).

Thanks! All I need to do know is protect it from the animals out here on my ranch.

Definately, both are great audio choices. The chrome handles were never an option on the 80. I pulled them off of a 1991 Lexus LS400 and they are pretty much identical. Here's the thread: https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/477216-ls400-chrome-handle-mod-pix.html

Thanks for the tip. I am not a big fan of chrome, but I love the extra strength of the metal. Are they chromed plastic or actually metal. I thought of changing the door trim chrome to gunmetal, but seemed pointless as there was nothing to tie it into, but now you gave me an option. Thanks & btw, I love this place!

Cheers,

John

The seats and interior look great. The color came out really well.

How was the suede installed, glued over the original headliner? Cost of the various parts of the upgrade? What wheels are those?

Rarely would a new headliner be applied directly over an old headliner. My dad owns an auto upholstery shop and never heard of that being done.

They type of glue used to adhere the new headliner material is a heavy duty industrial glue designed to hold up for many years and a lot of heat.

Thanks. I was a little worried it would be too much in the coffee family in colors. Perhaps it did, but it really makes me feel relaxed getting in this truck. The noise level has seem to have dropped as well. I wonder if that is from the extra roof insulation. I should have sprung for the dynomat interior coverage.

Next project is the replacement of the PHH. Order the replacements today for all the related hoses.

Highly recommend by passing the metal tube and running high quality hose all the way down. Much easier to do the job this way.

Cheers,
Mike

They have a small shop, but really pay attention to the details. Let me know if you need contact info.

I think your 80 is the cleanest I've seen

Thanks! She is not so clean at the moment as one of my longhorn has licked or nose rubbed most of the windows. We all might have different uses for our 80's, but one thing we can all agree on is their strong disposition.

Cheers,

John

Now looking to drop in a V8. The items on the "to do" list (after the engine completion) should put my rig up there with the everyone else here on the forum.

Looks amazing. How long did it take the shop to perform that transformation?

It took a couple of months as a few parts had to be special ordered.

I am so ready to start on the other mods...

Pending Upgrades:
6.0L V-8 with 4L65E transmission
OME 3" lift with 35" tires
Upgrade braking system
Replace the standard fuel tank with a 38 gallon model and possibly an aux tank (24gal).
Paint job or wrap (might do a color change to white / reduce cooking in the TX sun)
Roof Rack (with lights on front and rear)
Rear wheel mount
Rearview camera
Rear internal storage

What am I forgetting?

Cheers,

Techsis
