Great design! VERY interested...

I'm interested in a set. I'd be fine with a kit too. Send me the parts and I'll do the welding. One way or the other I'm in pending the price is not outrageous.

nice cargo carriers for sure. I'm not surprised at all that it's taking this long to get something into production. Paying attention to details takes a lot of time. Banging out a POS can be done in a weekend.

Thanks for sharing your idea with everyone. As far as getting ripped off, I just try and keep the pricing as low as possible so there is no incentive to jump on it. Large margins can breed competition. Interior storage isn't new but how you are going about it is. It's that part of the project that should be protected.

Kind of like sliders. They have been around for ever and just because Slee was the first to put them on an 80 doesn't mean much, It's how he mounted them and any unique designs that he incorporated for the 80 that are his.

Take your time and make the best mounting system you can dream up. That way any competitor's design will be sub par to yours.

Looking forward to the final design.

Definately in for two.

I'm definately in for two, assuming you can get them into production in the next couple of months. After that I'm going to have to go with hacking out a set myself as I'm going to need to carry water in the FZJ80 later in the summer.

Great design work... and good luck bringing it into production.

Im in for 2 also pending a not out there price.

I had vehicle specific storage in the FJ Cruiser (Springtail Solutions) and it was nice having good storage that didnt eat up cargo area.

we are thinking of the 100 next, as our good friend has a 100 to use as a template.

first the 80- this has been designed as a modular system from the start. It can be as minimal as just the cargo carriers but will get more extensive.
I will post pics when it's installed- about 3 weeks out or so.

Possible interest.

How far does the "floor plate" stick out from the edge of the wheel wells? I've got stuff bolted to the floor back there that I don't want to move:grinpimp: The original design that is up off the floor would workie better for me.

Very nice work

Thanks

Any updates? Please.......

the prototype should be ready soon and pics taken. a lot of nice details and refinements added by Ken- we are really excited about this system. will update w/ there is something to update with...

I'm interested as well, at least for one--passenger side--maybe a pair. Curious to see the final shots of all this.

I am intrested in a pair.

They will match my sliders that Ken should have done real soon.

I was up @ 4x4 Labs last week getting my truck measured for a ladder and a new gas can rack for my bumper when I saw a few of these on a rack in the shop there. Never knew that they had made more than just the first one. I was thinking of maybe getting a set there since we are still waiting on the final version. While I like the new design, I really enjoyed the simplicity of the first one you made up. I think I am going to talk to them about possibly picking up a set if they are still there.

If you could please take my name off the wanting list.

thanks,

Jon.

Anything more on these? or have they also become vaporware like all the other good ideas here at Mud?

uh, yeah

I've been making these for my 80 series customers for months now. They look like the first ones I made for James. The brackets bolt to the third row seat captive nuts in the body. I'm working on some for a 100 series now, slightly more complicated mounting system. Mine aren't quite as disco as Ken's CAD pictures reflect. I use the same basic parts as my gas can racks for the rear bumpers.

SF80 let me use his sweet 80 for a while last year to mock them up.

Good ideas sometimes take a long time to get to market especially if you're busy.
If you aint got skills like James, you have to wait.

So how much for a pair Luke? I couldn't find them on your site. Why has nobody spoken up that these were in production and being sold :hhmm:
