for sure.....id be happy with 65mph-67mph if i could squeeze 20mpg optimizzing gearing. for the most part the weight reduction shows more gains in city driving / stop-starting a behemoth. Once that mass is moving on the hyw weight reductions arent goign to really help a ton as it becomes more of the 'brick in the wind' principle you are fighting. (except for long hill passes).

I averaged 19.5mpg for an entire tank going from Killington, VT to Philadelphia. Kept the cruise set @ 71/72 the whole way. Mine was stock but like others have said previously, the gauge on the truck said 71/72 but the GPS said 68/69. I assume the GPS was accurate. It was probably 75 miles of country back roads, then highway the remainder. Hit a few patches of stop and go traffic along the way otherwise I think I'd have been closer to 20.

With fuel conservation not on my mind I typically average 14.5-15mpg in mixed driving.

I hope none of you folks posting mpg numbers is using the number displayed in the CID - it is not very accurate. Just sayin' :censor:

I have a 15/75 rule: if I keep it under 75, I can see 15 mpg. My typical cruising speed of 85 is closer to 12 mpg.

For a heavy, lifted, full-time 4WD with armor, I think Toyota did pretty good. Except for not letting us have the diesel motor, of course.

If the LC is like my Tacoma and 4Runner, then the odometer and speedometer work off of different sensors, and the speedometer is purposely slightly slow while the odometer with stock tires is very accurate (largely due to a bunch of lawsuits for incorrect odometers). Moving up to a slightly larger tire (285/70/17 on RW Wheels) requires a 4% adjustment to the trip odometer to determine true miles traveled (using a GPS mileage tracker app, I was able to verify the 4% discrepancy). When I drove the LC home, I got 19.3 mpg with stock tires going roughly 70mph for almost an entire tank from Arkansas to KCMO. That is better than I got with my much lighter 2003 4Runner with a 4.7L V8. Mixed driving stock still got me almost 17 mpg with E10 gas. Adding RWs took me down just over a mpg, and I am getting better than 17 with 0 Ethanol. For a large SUV, I am pretty impressed to be honest. Then again, if I really cared about MPG, I'd be driving a Prius.

Keep in mind we have 383 +/- horse power on tap!
