My TC Set is on the way !!! gonna have it on the 5th!!!!!..

trying to make things easier i took out the ac compressor needs to be rebuilt i think never cared much for the ac in a truck. took out the bracket as well.

i finally got the stuck trottle body off- look at this pic of what the **** was behind and flap it's even like that inside of the mainfold

dont ask the po never did anywork to the motor since it was bought brand new in 89

BARF! That must be the worst TB I've ever seen.
 
i sure as hell aint proud of it. im hoping that i can just do the HG and the Tc and after i clean it up and be done. it still runs but has no power at all. when i took off the mainfold the upper part you can see what looks like a mix of water and oil. so really i just hope that it doesn't get lower. i'll post what happens after i get the head off :idea: and then maybe i'll be back :steer:
 
You will need to clean from the throttle body to the head. I'm sure the injectors, the cold start injector, and the EGR are also a mess.
 
:eek:That's pretty bad. I've used oven cleaner in the past to clean out intake manifolds. It works pretty good cleaning out the hard to reach areas.:D

Now that is a great idea! I've never heard anybody suggest oven cleaner before. Those manifolds can be a bear to clean.
 
Don't let it soak for too long because I think it actually eats aluminum. I let it soak for about 20-30 minutes, wash/brush off gunk and repeat as needed.:)
