Alright, I'm a little slow I guess. I had the stock steel rims powder coated white and some BFG 33 x 9.5 put on. Now how the hell do you get the stock hubcaps to fit? Do you need a special tool? I've done numerous searches and have come up with just about nothing. I'm guessing the powder coat added a little thickness to the clips and that's making it tough to slip over. Any tips? Oh yeah Merry Christmas!

Hubcaps

My guess would be the powder coat. I was going to do the same thing in the near future as my Pig came with the original rims. Post some pics once you get it solved. Good Luck!

You just have to use force. They are pretty tight fitting. Sometimes the inner 'rail' in the cap compresses and they wont go on at all. If this happens, I use a flatbar to pry them open a bit. All mine have required pressure to install and remove. Sometimes it just takes getting mad at them....

I had the same problem with new OEM rims. Just bend the clips in toward the center of the wheel a little bit. I just pushed them in with my hand. Then you can just tap on the hubcaps with a rubber mallet.

Mine are tough. Put the cap over the tabs loosely then put both knees against it on opposite sides. Grab the tire with your hands and pull on it while pushing forward on the cap with your knees. If this is still tough, take a rubber mallet and hit the tabs in a little bit but not too much. Don't want them popping off while driving!

Thanks for all the help. The powder coat had "glued" the clips to the rim. I bent them in and that did the trick.

It's hard to get a good shot because of where the pig is parked but here's what I got.

Those look nice!

What was stock for that year? (not trying to stir the pot... just curious)
