That's a scratch not a crack I not so gently dragged it out of the engine bay
that's great, just be sure to make sure there are no invisible cracks before you start investing it in it. My 1hdt head had about 14 cracks in it but i couldn't see them without a mag check.

i need the 1ct not the 2ct engine head

Those guys will know if they are compatible or not.

Precombustion chamber cracks are basically factory installed on Toyota IDI engines, they're fine until your pre-combustion cups break into pieces and drop down. Then it completely destroys the engine. Not common, but catastrophic if it happens.

Heads cracking and leaking coolant though are endemic. I wouldn't trust a used head unless it had been checked 3 different ways by 2 different people.

Here is a less blurry photo.the jagged line is a scratch it's obvious in person maybe not on camera and there is no crack in the obvious place that you suggested I probably still need to get a bye penetrant and use it on the head to see if there's any like surface cracks that I just can't see

i mana to wrangle up some other parts via the toyota delearship and get them delivered to my local toyota place. i learned all the parts i got came from one place im gonna call them specificly to see if someone can check in the back for a head gasket.

I got what I thought was an aftermarket gasket a while ago and after being unable to track down an official OEM gasket I figured to open it up and lo and behold it's got the extra lobes that I need just on the f****** back side I guess I have one of the last OEM gaskets in the world apparently it just didn't show it on the front side it matches and I'm going to have to clean the head also I had a picture of that too no I was just cleaning the areas where I thought they were cracks I will clean the head entirely before I put the gasket on and the block too

Stone/Corteco are a Japanese aftermarket gasket manufacturer. Probably decent quality, but there is no way that will be an OEM gasket.

That head surface looks rough, no way I would run that without machining, even with a fibre gasket.

I will try and get the head machined but the engine block itself looks about the same I also found what I think is a crack in the space between valves on the fourth cylinder I'm having a guy look at it tonight and he is gonna get back to me on if it's a crack or not

Keep In mind the last photo of the head is after I have gone at it with a 0000 grade fine steel wool and brass wheels with WD40 to help break stuff up

That certainly looks like a crack.

It looks like that engine has been running for a long time with a leaking gasket and/or cracked head, causing all the corrosion.

It probly has I don't think anyone has taken the time to do what I am doing to this car in decades. And if it is cracked welp it's going back on bc I can't afford another one let alone aquire it

I'm having a highly recommended to me local machine shop pressure test the head, clean it up and resurface it for me. The guy working on it is gonna see if he has any old stock valves in his shop

It will have the valve train rebuilt and the last OEM coolant thermostat Toyota had installed. It will be done this Wednesday

So I was thinking about why my cruise control don't work and saw that there is a recall that is still open for the cruise control computer. I'm gonna see if I can get Toyota to replace it. They probly won't but it can't hurt to ask
