Hey all, I have created an inclinometer app for Android. I didn’t like any of the ones out there, so I made my own.

Here is the link to the free Trial version, check it out. Please post any feedback, thanks

I like what I see. I'll give it a shot as soon as I'm back in the states and have my phone working again.

Your model is wrong. 30 day free trial will deter people. Make it free with ads or no ads for $1.99. I personally dont like free with trial apps and tend to avoid them.

Add a 80 series cruiser to the vehicle list, and I'll buy the app.

Bonus points if the 80 has a ARB bumper and snorkel...

Curious why you would not try an app that is free and that does not have ads or try to capture any personal info as many do. It is non intrusive in all regards, just has a time limit and a disabled feature.

In general, people like free. Since you are in SW, I assume you know this already. While I don't proclaim to be an app guru, I have used quite a few and this is the first app that I have seen using this model (free for 30 days). The majority of apps have 2 versions- 1) the free, limited functionality, ad-based version and 2) the paid, no-ad full feature version.

As far as why I don't try it? I don't want to be coupled to a time-frame. Outside of installing it and using it for 2 minutes, I may not have a need for it (ie, go wheeling) within the trial period . When the event arises that I do want to use it, and its outside of 30 day period, that would be an annoyance and I would uninstall it. So, I never really did get to try it out to see how useful it is, but now I am being forced to to pay for it to try it out- that's a turn off for me. I don't have a problem upgrading to full versions that I like, but just don't couple me to a time. This is one reason why you don't see many 30-day trials on apps. Make sense?

I like your permissions, or lack thereof, that's a BIG plus. IMO, model the functionality after the 1st gen 4runners.

Thanks for the in-site, and good reasoning. To be honest the 30 day trial was to try and be an incentive. But as you point out if you don't use it, you'll never get to try it, nullifying the purpose the purpose I was intending.

I wasn't sure if I should do it in the first place. I wanted to stay away from ads, as they will block a portion of the screen.

Much appreciated, I'll do an update and remove it tomorrow.

How 'bout free to 'mud members with a star ;)

Well there is no real way to do this with the google licensing.

Anyway I've only had 9 people buy the app.

I paid out $150 in cash for fees and license, web space, then my labor for 3 months, taking into account a wage far less than my professional wage. Google takes 30% which is crazy.

I need 1,500 app sale to break even. As you can see I didn't do this to really make any money.

Android users needed an inclinometer app that was better than was already out there. So that was my goal.

Hope everyone enjoys it!

IMO, I would've just left the 30 day trial. If people can't try it within 30 days, then they don't really need it.

I'll go buy the app. Hopefully a future update add's an 80 icon!
