Is there an obvious place to get a copy that doesn't need a key, or where keys are posted?

Stupid question, but what else is new. What's the difference between ODB II and M-ODB?

I'm still trying to find (acquire) a good working copy of Techstream, and even then, I'm not too sure it will work on an 06 LX. Come to find out, in 06 the LX departed from the LC in some small but inconvient ways.

Works on our 2006 LX470 fine.

No key necessary, you edit C:\Program Files\Toyota Diagnostics\Techstream\Env\IT3System.ini in notepad and change TISFunction=1 to TISFunction=0.

It will save you from some annoying registration alerts. It may already be edited depending on where you got your Techstream.

Hi guys
I can't find/download techstream + Mini VCI cable drivers anymore.
I have used techstream v10 but I had to reinstall my laptop and now I can't get it back.
Download link on this page is down:
How to install Xhorse MINI VCI Toyota Techstream V10.10.018 | OBDTOOL Blog
Can anybody share drivers for Mini VCI cable?
Thank you!

You need to spec what version of the Mini VCI cable firmware you have (I think most are 1.4.3, but your example suggests you want 2.01?), and you need to spec 32 or 64 bit OS.

I think I can help with the 64-bit version of the driver for the cable (send me a message if interested), but do not have access to that version of Techstream.

But this is the problem.
I don't have Mini VCI firmware.
My laptop runs on win 7 32bit.
Every Mini VCI driver soft did have infected files (mostly Trojan horse).

Here's a link to a version that I used back when I ran v8.1 on a 32-bit machine. Maybe the last word in protection, but neither Windows Defender nor Super Anti Spyware found issues with the file.

Thanks for the link LBridges.
I think it's time to change antivirus program ;-)
Of course is your file infected. (I am using Eset).
However I have installed Techstream v10.10.018 and infected drivers for Mini VCI cable on two laptops. Both machines (win 7 32bit and win vista 32bit) without antivirus soft and without private data. And I'm getting same error. Techstream can't connect to vehicle.
Maybe is it the Mini VCI cable which is malfunctioning.
I wont to reprogram ECU and write in new tire pressure sensors ID. And I couldn't do this with my previously Techstream installation. I'm suspecting the Mini VCI cable can't do this.
Do you have any tip witch cable do I need to buy?

So do any of you have a confirmed amazon link for one that is known to be good and working? I want to pick one up tonight to try on my new-to-me '98 LX470 :)

I’ve been using techstream with my car since I’ve started this thread.
Hi, Bardiya, do you know if the speed beeper in the GCC 100 is removable by disconnecting a physical wire or by means of the Techstream? I don't want to delete mine now as it comes on at 119 kph (GPS measured) so is perfect for the radar settings around here, but I may want to remove it later.

The beeper is soldered onto the back of the Guage Cluster circuit. You might be able to wire in a switch into the circuit.

Thanks. I changed all my bulbs for LEDs a few year ago and I don't remember seeing it but I have some other work planned so I'll take a fresh look.

This is where it’s supposed to be. How’d your LED’s turn out?

That's useful, thanks. Did you unsolder yours? I had one 'removed' from a Nissan Patrol years ago but I think that might have been a more straightforward cable disconnection.

The LEDs are really sharp and crisp. They brighten the place up nicely. The smearing is due to dirty plastic and camera limitations.
