@jwbc84

Finally got around to knocking out this mod. I've ran a few thousand miles now and pretty happy. Adding a bit more detail to this thread. Looks like each step is 1.5mm. I sat mine to the highest point and added a washer that was 1.59mm. Making mine a fourth step.

I'm not quite sure I understand, so would you mind updating your post with a desc under each picture for ease of clarity? What is happening here? 😁

Making mine a fourth step.
Rather than making the reader go to the beginning, please outline steps 1 - 3. Again, just for ease clarity and congruence.

Thanks for the excellent work

I did one of the TransGo HD kits on my Tundra and it made a world of difference. The 1st gen Tundras trans is pretty similar to the one in the 80s, though I think it has slightly more electronic control (no kickdown cable at all) but it was tuned so you wouldn't feel anything. Significantly softer than my 80. It just felt sloppy and made me nervous because I occasionally have need to tow something heavy. The Transgo kit was pretty easy to install and I haven't regretted it a day. There are a couple of options and I chose the recommended "truck" options. It doesn't feel abrupt, just positive. I support you guys going the experimental route, but for a hundred bucks, I may just use the same kit on the 80, when (and if) I tear into the trans.

Doing a 12 quart fluid flush on my 1999 Toyota Land cruiser as well as a filter change so after doing lots of reading I thought I might as well make that adjustment on the line pressure but my cap looks a little bit different from the one at the beginning of this thread.

It has a V mark with three dots and turning it segment to the left appears to be at the same level ... Anybody else noticed this difference?

A little bit of feedback after I did my mod I actually went back to the factory OE setting. I guess my valve in the 100 series is different from the 80 series. I didn't notice any major differences initially but I did find out when putting it in reverse the transmission would hesitate ever so slightly and actually on two different occasions chattered so I put it back to factory setting and reverse gained it's normal functionality back. So unless you're plunger looks identical to the other style from mine I would not recommend it
