Each gear in its own plastic bag and all three gears rattling together in one cardboard box. Not great. The first set had each gear in its own box with lots of foam... Much larger overall. I think second time around they were trying to make the package smaller to save on shipping.

Oh and sweatyforehead, these are helical, same as the factory ones, which is why it is odd that they are noisy.
