Hi
I'm looking for help identifying the retrofit power steering parts for my BJ40 (1979) as the ball joint is worn and I'm trying to find a replacement ball joint. The system was fitted many years before I got it - and uses a hydraulic ram.

The pump is a Saginaw type (HINT: If you overhaul the pump with new seals and can't get it to work even after doing all the steering let/right many many times etc air purging.... I just left the belt off for a few days and drove it, then reconnected it and all worked fine again)

Thanks!
Brian.

I ran across this picture that titles it as being from a 61 Impala.

I found a eBay listing from down under that shows more vehicles that it was used on and is apparently a control valve.

Oh my. You guys are fast. Thanks!
Now that i have some guidelines, i'll see if i can get just the ball joint part... which is sloppy on mine.

I bought the BJ off a guy in Corsica, so I'll see if some euro-equivalent cars from same manufacturers had the same steering.

Thanks again!
B.
