I Plastidipped my FJ40 (yeah, the whole thing)

I did this to my center console. It seems to scratch and chip easily. Did you find this to be the case too?

Have any pics of your console? Does it chip at the corners? I believe to make the system most durable you need to apply three or four heavy coats. How many did you apply?

I applied 5 or 6 heavy coats on my pos dodge bumpers and 9 months later they look like s***.... If there is any rubbing at all between surfaces this stuff will peel. I also had water trapped between the dip and metal which not only looked bad but made me cringe knowing there was salt water just sitting there all winter.

This stuff works ok on plastic parts like emblems and whatnot but I would never waste my time doing a whole vehicle. For 50 bucks you can get a can of industrial equipment paint mixed to whatever colour you desire and do a real paint job.

FWIW, the door panels I "dipped " looked good at first, but just wouldn't stand up to the window cranks and grindage of daily use, so don't use it for this . I found that gasoline will cut it and I just wiped the door panels clean. Plasti dip has it's place for sure, just not on places with constant rubbing.
