How would you pay for any of the job creation, social programs and investment without a healthy economy? Adrian's big bag of cash falling from the sky again? Guess you won't mind paying a heap more taxes? I think business should pay more tax- but not by increasing rates, by allowing the private sector to flourish by making it easier to succeed and generate greater revenues through advantageous business environments, simplified tax regimes, the ability to create new jobs and train young people. We can't afford any more Gov't and public sector workers siphoning off the system and covering their asses.

I'm no fan of the NDP but I did like Harcourt and feel that if he had continued to lead the party things would have been much more middle of the road.

And Glenn's graph is correct, bc had a decline but one musn't forget the Asian flu that occurred in and around 96 and carried for a couple of years. This certainly impacted BC much more than all other provinces combined.

Well I don't usually post about politics cause I think they are all crooked and I don't really pay attention to it much, but Im a little drunk. Next election, I am looking at the party that will screw up and scare away big business (or small business for that matter) the least. I like my job, I am invested in a small company, and if the NDP red tapes everything, I might get fxxxed. I don't have a cushy gov or union job, so rape the environment in the most environmtentally friendly way is where I am at.

the graph is interesting. Also remember a little event around 9/11 right after the Libs got in... I also liked Mike Harcourt as mayor and agree he was likely the best chance for balanced leadership, sadly his legacy is tied up in the mess surrounding the multiple leadership changes as the NDP collapsed. We are in big trouble here in the next election. Every time I drive down Great Northern Way I am reminded not to vote NDP, remembering how Finning pulled out and ran to Alberta...
