Prolly gonna stay with the red after all
Kinda growin on me

Plus that's a lotta rig to prep & paint

Ok...Let the part gathering begin....
I got a little "Cruiser Cash" from sellin some parts...
Of course first order of business is to get it going, Then....
Adapter for the dual cases?
Or, Lockers (Aussie or Lockrights)?
Or, a 30 spline super set?
Or?????
All those things are on the list, I only have bout $800.00 to play with right now.
Suggestions.?

I've been learning a lesson with my 40. Have a plan on what you want to do to it then do it. Pick up the parts you need one time and do it right as you go. I've also been lucky and blessed by several people here who, through their generosity, have made my 40 happen. Todd, Luke, Brian, Ron, Clint, Tom, John, Rob and several others here helped me tremendously! The reason they did it is beyond me but all I did was ask for a little help and these guys came through in spades! So don't be afraid to ask if someone has parts. Chances are somebody will. Hopefully I can contribute, since I have to pay back the Cruiser gods for my good fortune!

My thought is to Lincoln Lock the rear and lunch box lock the front. Just be sure to put in Longs up front to take the abuse.

Longs are a must have for me
I am gonna stock pile parts & try to do all the major stuff at once
Then I can drive it & wheel it whilst I do the other things

Longs are a must
Wanna do all the drive train upgrades while its down
Then I can wheel it & drive it while I do the other stuff I want

Aussie lockers are 250 each, and a doubler adapter is 200...so 700$. But you wont be able to wheel it with out longs, those are what 640$ now?....hmmm that wold leave you enough for duals.....but what the use of duals or longs if you dont have lockers.....oh no Ive gone Plaid!!

More cash is in the near future
So I may just wait for now & see what I might find
Never know what might turn up used
Or what might get cheaper

well in level of importance...Lockers, longs, adapter.

But you may as well lump lockers and longs together, cause if you lock the front with out longs....well you know.

You could weld the rear, lock the front anf get longs for about 900$

Or until funds allow for the front to be done, lock the back, wheel it, then lock the front w/ longs later. My 62 had an open front and did just dandy.

HHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM???????
all interesting ideas
My mental gears are spinning..(listen closely & you can hear the slow grind)
Thanks for the input
All valued advice.

Started the centered rear diff @ Carls place today...
Only one "minor" plasma cutter booboo.

Lots of cutting, grinding, more grinding & even more grinding, & cleaning...

3 hours into it & so far it's ground down & clean

Of course before the grinding, there was some striping...........I like workin alone with Carl.

On a related note & in lieu of recent large medical bills

I may have to sell my Brown 60

I don't know for sure, but I will know very soon. Without funds enough to support them both @ this time, one will have to go & I would rather have the SOA, V8 as my driver & wheeler over my beloved "61".

That would be a damn shame, hope it works out that you can keep both!

Both of you go through change vehicles quicker than Ron can whip out a dollar at a seedy establishment; and that's saying a lot!

I have actually been a good boy since April last year. Talked myself out of the almost recent 60 purchase. I don't need a project.
Although I am contemplating a possible change in DD to a Yota or Honda.

ill sell you my 88...
