It's some kind of clip. What is it from?? I pulled off the valve cover and it was just laying in there next to a push-rod.

Looks like it's a vacuum line clip.
You may have bumped it off the last time you did a valve adjustment.
Do you see any wear to any internals?

This 2F is new to the 55 and has been sitting for about a year. I see no wear at all. It looks pretty damn clean under the cover. It must've gone in through the oil cap?!?

looks like the clip that keeps the fuel and return hard lines together. Mine are on the front of the valve cover. Maybe.
