I have/had many different models of Land cruisers(currently 6) I bought a premium package 250 with 10 miles on it back in February. I have about 6500 miles on it and absolutely love it. However, every time I fill up the tank it reads no more than 273 miles until empty! I am reading where others are going higher? Summer as high as 300 miles until Anthony.

I hope to never run out of gas, however, is there something wrong? Thanks in advance

The calculation is likely based on your driving habits, which might be more heavy-footed than most. Or you could drive in hilly terrain or into high winds regularly. That number is fairly close to what others report. I wouldn't sweat that small of a difference. I would, however, consider adding a larger fuel tank to increase the capacity and range.

Not sure on the 250, but our Highlander Hybrid had something like three gallons of fuel in it when the tank got to 0 miles of range. We found this out when we had ~30 miles of estimated range to travel ~17 miles to a gas station, only to have the range drop to 0 with ~1 mile to go. I ended up babying the rig the last mile on EV mode (luckily it had plenty of battery charge), only to fill it up and realize the range estimate was conservative by around 100 miles! It's not the first vehicle I've had like that either, my old Mazda 3 hatch was the same way - 3 gallons left in the tank at empty.

You could always drive the LC250 down to 0 on the range estimate before filling up to see how far off it actually is. I'm guessing these inaccuracies are caused by the complex shape of modern fuel tanks.

wheels/Tires? (those 20" premium wheels are heavy)
roof rack?
lift/leveling kit?

i'm getting 19.9 city driving with a really short commute.
Stock michelin tires,18" aftermarket wheels
no roof rack
Stock Height

hit your left/right arrow buttons on your steering wheel till the MPG average is displayed, might have to customise your gauge cluster to add the MPG average. You can add and remove items on your digital gauge cluster.

The small fuel tank is really my only real disappointment in the LC250. Think it’s bad daily driving try towing. I had to stop every 150 miles for fuel on my AK trip last summer. Averaged 12.4 MPG over 9790 miles. I carried 4 Jerry cans of fuel to bridge some gaps.

From what other mud posts I’ve read - the mileage improves during and after the break-in period.
That's what we all tell ourselves... I'm a solid 18.5MPG after 27,000 miles running LT275/80r18 tires. (two different sets same MPG with each). It was better of course with the OEM p rated tires but never that close to what's printed on the window sticker. She needs a 25 gallon tank. I can tow my trailer further with my 80 series on 37's between fill ups.

First things first: I'm not a 250 owner, though I'd like to be.

But my question is: Why the heck do these rigs not get better mileage? In 2024, we bought my wife the new 2024 Grand highlander with the same turbo 4cyl, NOT a hybrid, AWD, weighing in at 4,900lbs. Our lifetime mileage after ~20k miles is 24.6mpg.🤷‍♂️

Our regular Highlander hybrid - AWD and ~4,600# - has no problem knocking out 35-36 mpg in the summer and has gotten as high as 38 mpg before (verified at the pump :). It's amazing with a little N/A 4 banger with a battery can do.
