I can see Gundy drooling from here.

Where do ya find a tire pressure gage small enough for those tires???

Nice build, Gundy. Looks like a lot of fun.:wrench::wrench::wrench::wrench::wrench:

No air. ;) They are stuffed with soft foam. To mod them you cut chunks out of the foam. :hillbilly:
I've already picked up some suspension mod tricks for re-locating the shocks to
increase travel.:grinpimp: I'm adding weights to the inside of the rims to keep those
hefty meats on the ground and insure full articulation.

wearing rubbers

Progress continues. ESC might get here Saturday.
Should be up and running shortly.
Body work begins next week. :hillbilly:

Cool. Perhaps one day we can
do some micro crawling together.

I'm told there is a r/c course nearby where they do competitions. In Easley behind
a hobby shop. I hope to scope
it out soon. :grinpimp:
Got the body cut out tonight.
Looks cool all clear. Kinda like
a stealth Cruiser.

Yea they have a road track there that i am building a road car for and supposedly a dirt track. I have a nitro 4x but no crawler. Have to see if the boss will allow another one. There is also a new dirt track being built up here outside of Asheville by the airport. It is also next to a hobby store.

beta beater is ready

Crap. The painting looked soooo fine.....then disaster struck!
The window tint bled into the other paint. Rats!
Oh well, now it has a beta beater body. :grinpimp:
I ordered a new body and it will be the show/display body
and this one can get beat all to hell. :hillbilly:
Look out beach here it comes.

The electronic speed control (esc) finally arrived this afternoon.
Can we say "test drive"?
The sucker will pull a front tire off the ground on full
throttle start!
It was like Christmas today. The new body came in too.
I don't think the "show" body will be finished before the beach
however. I need a break from the tedious work and want
to do a first rate job on the new body.
Tower Hobbies sent a new wishing book. Holy Cow. Ton-o-toys
including the Hi-lux Toyota with 3 speed tranny and adjustable
leaf spring packs. :hillbilly:
I'll bring the book with me for some campfire drooling.

Good lookin' toys! Now that's a detailed hobby, but probably a lot less greasy than a real Cruiser. Bummed I'll miss them at the Boil.

That's going to make some fine pic's in the sand and roots of the island. See ya!:):)

Dang Doc, I wish I had seen your reply before I went over to the cookout. :bummer:
What with the dog, the ol lady, chairs, light and cooler, my hands were too full to bring
the toys. I wish I'd had a pic or two taken of the things while there. Live and learn.
I should check on my MUD fix daily. ;)
The R/C were fun there. Some kids got to play with them which made me happy.
A grownup or two wheeled the CR-01 too. The CR-01 made some nice roostertails
in the sand. That Trail Blazer sure needed a rear locker however. Full throttle starts
would just bury the rear tire. Maybe a welding of spider gears is in order for that one. :hillbilly:

There you go good buddy. The old redneck diff lock.

It was nice meeting you and the family. My son really got a kick out of those R/C's. I think I am going to have to get him one for Xmas. Sorry I missed the raffle I think he would have liked one of those minis. Are they still available at the store? I would like to get him a cruiser R/C, but $400 for the CR-01 is a little steep.

The Zip Zap mini monster trucks
are no longer available.
They weren't Cruisers anyway.
I mated some die cast bodies to
the chassis to make mini Cruisers.
Losi makes some neat mini crawlers for a little under 100
bucks. Very cool. I've been debating buying one and mating
the SOR die cast to one. The
problem is the SOR die cast is
an awesome model and I can't
bear to cut mine up. I guess I
one day will buy another body
for that project.
Your boy is cute and I'm glad he
got to play with some of my R/C
toys!

Radio Control 1/10 Land Rover LR3 SUV Car R/C Black @@ - eBay (item 280198498300 end time Nov-01-08 12:12:52 PDT)

You could add a bushwacker body (clear Lexan fj40) you can get for like $25 from
a hobby shop and Shazaam. Cool Cruiser r/c. The Bushwacker body is also a 1/10th.
The pic attached is the LR mated to a CR-01 FJ40 chassis. You'd do the opposite.
Attach the LR chassis and running gear to the bushwacker body. Could probably
salvage some of the neat details like sounds and lights too.
