Yeah, I am going to So the rear, pull the overload leaf and see how it ends up. shackle will go through the rear frame (kinda like some Shackle reversals) and it will have to sit low as possible.

The tank that I have actually fits quite well. I bought it a couple of years ago off of Ebay. It is designed as a aux tank for a 40.

Anyone happen to know what springs are similar to waggy's but about 4" shorter?

Well, I think I have the rear springs figured out.

I am going to have Alcan Make me a single new Main leaf that is 4" shorter than the stock Waggy main leaf.

I'll probably have to trim up some of the other leaves but that is not hard at all.

In this pic you can see the way the cruiser rode home with me (on a trailer)

The unfortuate thing is that in a Spring over situation the spring is almost flat and I am WAY too tall for a set of 35's (much less the 33's that I really want for daily driving)

Previous pics show how low the truck became once I went to spring under.

The other issue is that the spring stick out a lot compared to the body..

Basically, all the work done to bob the body is negated by having the leaf springs in the way instead of the body..

by removing approx 4" from the main leaf of the waggy springs I would end up with a 53" spring (stock is 47.5") with a slightly increased load carrying capacity (increased spring rate based on materials and due to a shorter spring)

Alcan is making my new leaf for $50 each.

$100 and a bit of work on my behalf and I have a spring that is just about perfect for my use.

Plus I think I can use the stock spring mount ;)

not missing a lug stud, missing a lug nut ;)

You would not believe how hard it is to find a set of these mag wheel nuts..
(shank style lug nut, not acorn)

Alcan sent me the new leafs built to my spec.
5" shorter than stock waggy springs with a tad bit of lift, and a slightly higher spring rate. Also, because the spring is shorter a higher spring rate will apply too. But since it is only a single leaf I think it will be just fine :)

here are a couple of comparisons of the new Vs old leaves.

First is a comparison between the new leaf and the old leaf.

Second is the same pic different angle.

Third is the difference between the old spring pack and the new spring pack.

I have to decide what I want to do with the second main leaf being a bit long. I might bend it up or just cut it off.. cutting is easier ;)

yep. PB's has them. But I have not found enough sets (I need one more to total 6 of them)

Got the rear springs mounted.

They worked out perfectly.

Ride height is exactly where I wanted it. I am still not super pleased where the springs are but I am not that worried.

17" to the bottom of the frame and 13" to the bottom of the skidplate.
On 35's ;)

If I could clock the tcase........

Hmm, Marlin finally came out with a clocked tcase mount for a mini truck. I am thinking that the clockable toy box is not to long from now ;)

I can't remember 13" or 16"

Got the MS componenets in the mail.

MS is a fuel injection computer. I am going to build my own "brain" ;)

Stupid leadin the blind here ;)

Got a FJ60 fuel sender and a FJ62 fuel pump instaled into the tank that I am going to use on Bob. Since I am going to go to a TBI setup I decided that the easiest way to have a consistantly usefull pump was to do an intank pump. Searching around in the junkyards for a TBI in tank pump was frustrating. I could not find a single pump that was a bolt in system. They were all twist to lock. So I ended up using a FJ62 pump. Fits perfectly (I am going to have to increase the length of the pickup but that is easy). The 62 pump puts out around 30ish psi which is too much for the GM tBI system. Fortunately, I can get one of the standard pressure stabilizers to lower the pressure. Failing that, the TBI has a bypass that shoudl protect it.

Now I am going to pull everything out and have the tank dipped to remove all paint and rust/rocks/dirt/cobwebs from the inside.

Those are the super cool early 90's Ektelon raquetball shoes ;)

I was also working on getting the rear inside done. After watching American Chopper I figured I had it easy....
