Aw man, I promised it to a friend already. He wants the whole PS system to convert his FJ40.

And the Sundance? That place is great! A friend's band (http://www.tamikatyler.com/ - Mitch is her guitarist) has played there a few times. Weird crowd, neat place, definitely fun. :)

bummer,

I am thinking something more robust than the 60 steering system anyway..

Couple more pics.
Front end is completly stock spring under with 35's...

rear end is so right now but will soon be spring under ;)

I might upgrade the front axles a bit but not anytime soon. this is not going to be a rock rig. Just something to play around on. More an expedition rig of sorts.

It migh get an ARB in the front. But I kinda doubt it.

Stubby is for family wheelin. Not rock bashin..

75-78 carbs will they hook up to the 60's linkage

I still have to figure out how to do the carburation for now.
I have a TBI body, harness and computer. So to go TBI I will have to reburn the chip and get teh TBI adapter plate.

I have the stock carb. Which needs a rebuild and I have no idea how complicated it will be to desmog.

I have a 76 2F carb that needs a rebuild but do not know if it will hook up to the stock linkage.

Or go the TBI route with a megasquirt computer.

Right now I am leaning towards the two carbs and keeping the TBI/megasquirt stuff in reserve for the turbo instalation.. :flipoff2:

i was wondering this also, will the 75-78 2f carbs hook up the the stock linkage? i think the linkage changed in 79 and up. how much booty fab do you have to do if any?

Don't really know. I think I have a lead on a TBI adapter and then I'll jsut build a MS system.

I don't think I willever figure out how complicated it is. Although, All it would take to be very easy is a simple throttle cable instead of a linkage system...

those are mag wheels, it is next to impossible to find lug nuts for them..

:flipoff2:

I kinda like them tho. they look like the standard steel spokes at first.. Retro is cool :smokin:

The back would fit two dogs perfectly. And I am building a chuckwaggon for the supplies :)

Mom, Dad two kids, the two dogs and all necessary camping gear :)

exactly,

16 gall sof fresh water with a on demmand 12 volt water pump (removeable for the camp shower that is heated through the trucks coolant system)
Plumed for propane with storage space for a grill and coleman stove.
slide in top sides that serve triple duty as ramps for Quads/motorcycles and cooking surfaces (expanded metal) on each side of the trailer.

top will be strong enough to park a quad and a motorcycle or a couple of motorcycles.

:D

it is a 4x8' flatbed trailer right now. Sprung over (with a 60 rear axle if I find a really cheap one)

This whole project has the potential to be very cool. As long as I don't screw it up ;)

Spaceghost over on pirate4x4 sells the adapters, doesn't he? It's just a small plate of aluminum, so I'm sure they don't cost much...

SG used to sell them. The last time I checked he was not making them but was planning on another run

they sell for around $100

cheaper is always better tho ;)

so I get off my lazy butt and start to get to work.

First thing,
Get the 60 off of the flatbed that it considered home for the past week and a half. in the process of getting the rig off the trailer (mind you no brakes or gearing, or steering for that matter) I manage to dislocate my thumb, burn the beajeasus out of my hand (and leg) and put a sizeable bruise on my wifes leg (even she has no idea how that happened  )

Okay, go the truck off of the trailer.
Now, lower the rear end.

Hmmmmmmm... Me thinks that the spring under is a bit lower than I want...

Hmmmmm.. I think somethig is missing...

Guess I'll look around at what I have sitting around the house...

That seems to fit well.

interior looks good...

Still plenty of room for a dog and a cooler.

Big Question is..

Do I return the rear to SO config and try to lower it a bit or do I get a set of waggy lift springs and raise it a bit...

I hate thinkin..
