While I was doing the deflector I thought I would try an experiment with some plastidip on the scratched hood. It was a failure but I learned some good lessons. I

Don't plastidip if its 90 degrees out. (I was in the shade)
Plastidip works much better with a vertical project than a horizontal one
Don't try to do such a large area with it as it drys to fast
Hope your can of dip doesn't start dripping on your project, ugh

I think I'll pay to have it wrapped in that section.

These things are very high quality. Thanks to Jason at Trail Tailor, quick turnaround and excellent communication.
Edit: I did have some contact with the pinch weld at the front and had to pry that back a bit as well as angle the slider down with a washer behind the top. You can see its very close at the front here.

The front one is held on by 3 screws on the back of the grill, just pull, smooth, clean and dip. The rears you blue tape tape all the way around. Spray 3-4 coats and let dry, I usually wait an hour between coats. Peel off the tape, then using a wood skewer or toothpicks carefully peel off all of the unwanted dip.

It takes a bit of practice but you can easily pull it off and redo if need be. The emblems/letters back edge will basically cut the plastidip when you peel it off. T

Here is one I got a little hasty with and peeled off some, so I am redoing it.

I don't generally worry about over spray with Plastidip, if it happens you can just rub it off with a microfiber rag. I'll get some pics of how I peel it when dry.

Hitting Yankee Boy Basin Tomorrow. Trying to lower the profile and fit the truckster in the garage. In the process I realized the jack mechanism needed to be put in the recovery bag. Reduced the overall weight on the OEM rack by a good 15 lbs as well.

Apparently I always wave at the camera when take pictures like this, SMH.

Heater T's are the next order of business. I thought I was going to be fishing plastic out of the hoses when they looked like this.

But in all actuality they looked like this. Old on top, new on the bottom. looks to me like they had been done somewhat recently, at least I will have a trail spare or 2.

Nice towel placement, SMH

One trick on this that I found useful was to use some stress mats and actually lay on my belly over them to access the hose clamps easier. Much easier than trying to access from the fender IMO.

Found this under the engine cover. Apparently the P/O had a problem at some point?
